Raiders make their move

The Pats better not slow down in their free agency dealings. The Raiders made a major move today to improve their 2-14 team.

According to Adam Shefter at NFLN:

The Raiders landed their first free agent by signing C Jeremy Newberry to a one-year contract. The deal included no bonus money.

I expect the Raiders to go after Dexter Reid next. There's no holding that Al Davis back once he gets started.

Dexter Reid played very well in the game he started last year. I was surprised the Colts let him go.

Did Jake Grove die? They do need to look OL, but I would have thought center would fall under the least of their needs. JMO.

He played very well in a game for the Pats, also, although i forget exactly which year it was. I wasn't surprised when the Pats let him go.
