The huge swings of emotion/opinions in the media, on this board, etc., about the Patriots are to be expected after a tough loss like yesterday's, but that doesn't make it any less silly.

To wit: regardless of what happened in yesterday's game, Belichick is an outstanding coach, Brady's an outstanding qb, the Pats have a lot of young talent on both sides of the ball, and they are better positioned re the draft than any team in the league.

Unfortunately, playoff losses are one and done. But they're still just one game. To make a parallel to baseball, the Red Sox management's approach to the team is to win 95 games a year, make the playoffs, and see what happens. Same thing here. The Pats are built to make the playoffs, and then you hope for the best.

When the Browns beat the Pats this year, it was a bad loss, but a learning experience. They got to play the following week. After this loss, the wait is much longer. But it's still just one loss, one game.

The Jets have talent....they went all out for this year. Honestly, you can make the argument they're getting this far in SPITE of Rex Ryan (and Sanchez), not because of them. And they've got a bunch of guys who are free agents after this season, and few picks in the draft. They won yesterday, good for them. But which team would you bet on next season?
