I love America, but I'd like to change things about it, so why should I leave? I never said other countries were better, but there are some things they do better than us and some things we do better than them which makes the simplistic "everyone hates us because we are the best and they are jealous" argument sound moronic.

Obviously you can say what you want. But, it is just a joke. People gang up on entities, countries, teams. And people are certainly ganging up on the Pats.

Sports teams are natural Flagships of countries. The olympics used to really underscore this. You may not like the idea of Nationalism. It's cool if you feel that way. But it is a natural occurance to use a team as a symbol. I have simply put the pats with America.

Ugly means ugly, not "winner". Sometimes there is overlap but there are two issues there. The ugly part of winner can be legitimately addressed as a separate issue.

A winner wins a war. An ugly winner tortures its POWs. A really ugly winner even videotapes the torture, and sells it on the porn market and profits from it.

What we're dealing with here is the fact that our coach is not perceived to be open, honest or lovable. What can you say to that? His public persona is one of being walled off, secretive, tight lipped, and testy. So that's the way he is. I don't particularly care but I don't expect the world to see it my way either. Bill is what he is - a piss poor public communicator, and a great football mind.

The way that the pats are vilified, it reminds me of the way the world looks at Americans in general. So many people around the world sneer at us, while other countries and societies do things that are far worse.

When you are the top dog, you will have the other dogs nipping at your flanks throughout the day. I know this. But the attacks this year have been bizarre.

In the business world, he is a highly sought after public speaker. Certainly, if he ever spoke to military people, they would absolutely love him. He is a great teacher as evidenced by his team's love for him. (students don't love boring teachers. They love and learn from teachers who can motivate.)

There are many venues where he would be vilified. One certainly is when he speaks to people with less than honest intentions. ie. the press
