If Vince resigns for $8M per, shouldn't Bodden resign for around $6M per... if he's a "Patriot first and foremost" as he claims.

Re: Pats have re-signed Vince Wilfork [mergedx2]

Who cares? Our best defensive player is locked up long-term, there's no chance of any messy holdouts or trade situations and it was obviously THE primary focus of the front office this offseason, which now means we can move on to other things. It's terrific news.

I'm sorry that i dont buy into the whole notion that this move coupled with resigning Tully makes our team any better. There are numerous 1 techniques around the league who can get double teamed and blown back onto the toes of the LB's. I guess we couldn't sign some of the other FA's out there bc we had to stay under the Salary Cap...

Great news.

So much for my 4 man front theory. :bricks:

Now we need a 3-4 DE. Who will the mystery man be? Is he already on our roster?

that's really cheap....

Great to hear, but does not take the sting off of Bolden...

you are so freaking negative dude - we could win the superbowl next year and you would still find something to ***** about.

Yes, but the 2011-2014 teams are better than they were 5 minutes ago.

Exactly....... And there's a big difference between having your best defensive player playing under the tag and having a contract.

Kind of bummed. I wanted them to get rid of him.

How does that guaranteed salary work? If he's injured or cut, it's 25M of cap hits that year or is it spread out somehow?

We re-sign our best defensive player, and yet still people are in here *****ing.

Seriously, this place has become borderline unbearable.

PATRIOTSdotCOM Big day for signings: Wilfork, Banta-Cain and now we're hearing Stephen Neal has re-signed.

That is incredible. Never imagined we'd get him that cheap.

He wasn't that cheap. He's getting right along the line what a top player in his position gets paid in the league.

YES!!!!!!!!! Okay now Bodden and then maybe.....Brandon Marshal :D

 WTH?

Nice!! Great news!! Now we have the middle of the D-line solidified.
Now we can concentrate on the pass rush in the draft.
Best draft depth in years for pass rushers.

Looking forward to the thread that heralds a new contract for Brady, I'm sure there'll still be near-incessant whining.

8 million a year isn't exactly a record breaking salary

It's cheap compared to what the doomsday folks were suggesting he was asking

Banta Cain 4.5 mil
Wilfork 8 mil
Total 12.5 mil

Peppers to play for Pats: 12mil

Preparing to get flamed like a mother in 5...4...3...2...1
