Was curious if anyone knew what it was? I know it is fairly easy considering we get the AFC East, NFC West and AFC West so I know who we play, but does anyone know where the games would be if the season ended today?

From what I undesrtand it will be difficult involving at minimum 4 West Coast trips...Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle.....There was also talk that the home Denver game would be in Canada... KC/Den(?)/StL/Ariz here....
Most likely Pitts, Indy...one here one there and the usual 6 H/A...NYJ/Mia/Buff

I believe the Pitt game would be here and the Indy game is on the road again.

I wonder if the league would schedule two of the west coast games back to back allowing the team to stay out there for a week...eliminating the wear and tear of cross country trips.....

I wonder why on that?? I know the last two are against the same spot in the other two divisions..which is home which away and why?? (Sure that there is a logic...) Was it that before there was a home game OR??

Well, hopefully Polian addressed this with a rule change with the CC so it wouldn't happen again......except if its the Pats.....

We should start an "office pool" to see just how this goes down.

FWIW, I think you're on to something!

Does it seem stupid to anyone else to have East matched up with West in both AFC and NFC matchups? That's a hell of a lot of cross-country travel all around.

Home games: Buffalo, Miami, NY Jets, St. Louis, Arizona, Denver, Kansas City and Pittsburgh.

Away games: Buffalo, Miami, NY Jets, San Francisco, Seattle, Oakland, San Diego and Indianapolis.

All the games and locations except for Pitt and Indy are fixed regardless of what happens the rest of the season. We will host the AFC North champion and play at the AFC South champion presuming we win the AFC East.

Actually, the NFL used to do that back in the 50s; eastern teams were typically scheduled to play at San Francisco and Los Angeles (the only west coast teams back then) back-to-back. However, with modern jet travel, I think teams now would just prefer to make separate trips... think about it, it would just be another road trip except that the flight is perhaps 2-4 hours longer, certainly not as big a deal as finding lodging and relocating operations to practice facilities for a whole week.

Because we're forever on top of the AFC East and they're forever on top of the AFC South.

When the drew up the rotating schedule for the current alignment, the league simply put the first two teams in each division in one group, and then the last two in another group, all alphabetically, to decide which teams play home-or-away in round robin play vs other divisions.

Thus, Buffalo and Miami will always have the same home and away games versus common opponents, and the Jets and the Pats will always have the opposite of them, and the same as each other. Check any schedule since 2002 and you will see this is true.

Unfortunately, it didn't occur to the schedulers not to group San Francisco and Seattle together (the order of NFC West team uses Saint Louis spelled out, thus Arizona and Saint Louis in one group, San Francisco and Seattle in the other). Thus, once every 8th season, the Pats will have games in both San Francisco and Seattle.

Ditto for Oakland and San Diego. Once every 6th season, the Pats will have games in both Oakland and San Diego (this happened in 2002; it's now 6 years later).

In 2008, we get the double whammy... both of the events will occur! This will take place every 24th season. however, chances are things will change in terms of numbers of teams and and/or divisional alignments by 2032.

The first place teams within a conference all play each other the following season to help balance the weight of opponents (ie they can't play themselves within the division).
