I know he is not an undrafted Pete Rose type but hell yes he could help. I would rather see Fat Albert as the RDE than anyone of the scrubs that are currently slotted. He would help the running defense and the pass rush.

I think this has been covered ad nauseum, but didn't he expressly state that he didn't want to play in a 3-4? Seems like another Adalius waiting to happen, an ego who wouldn't be happy with his role and would make a stink about it.

Anyone who thinks there's even a remote possibility of this happening either has no clue about the Patriots or no clue about the type of person Haynesworth is.

Why are we discussing this anymore. The only way the Pats take Haynesworth is if they switch to the 4-3 base and there is no indication they would consider that.

FWIW, the author of the article explicitly notes that.

And, BTW, his final conclusion is, "Thanks but no thanks."

We 2-gap. Haynesworth doesn't want to 2-gap. Why does this article or thread exist?

Isn't that kind of like writing an article asking whether people should stop using running water?

I'm not aware of Haynesworth ever saying he wouldn't play in a 2-gap. That seems to be a conclusion without an actual statement. He apparently doesn't want to play in a 3-4, but you can 2-gap out of a 4-3 (as the Patriots did in 2001 and various other times under BB). Haynesworth's best years were under Belichick disciple Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. Schwartz runs a defense similar to BB's and got his NFL start learning under BB in Cleveland.

Nevertheless, for more legitimate reasons, I don't want Haynesworth here.

There's all the reason in the world to believe that is at least of why he is now unhappy. The only difference between this year and last year is the coach and defensive scheme. Same city, same owner, same contract.

It’s about Haynesworth’s role, not his position - Redskins Journal

Also, if Schwartz is running a similar defense to BB why did he tell Suh to "cause havoc", and why did Suh express pleasure over getting to do that after playing in a read and react scheme in Tennessee last year?

I think, purely from the point of view of his impact on the "lockerroom," that Big Albert might have fit on a Pats team with Brewski and Rodney and Vrabel and Seymour in the same lockerroom. It would have been more or less akin to bringing Corey Dillon or Randy Moss onto a team that had just been fit for its third ring in four years (taking a little license with the timing) and with Player Leaders who didn't feel they had to take any crap from anyone.

But, given what TB and BB have had to say this offseason, I would say, "Definitely no. Not this year. Not this team. Not now."

Fat Albert hasnt stepped up to the plate when the Foreskins needed him. So why would he do it in the snow in December ???

Fat Albert has off the field issues.

Fat Albert wont play two gap.

Fat Albert is Fat Alberts biggest fan.

Fat Albert would want many millions of reasons to come to New England.

    **** Fat Albert.

As I think about it, that sums it up pretty well.
