OT: Ortiz Appreciation Thread

Anyone can have any hero they want. Dosent me Ortiz sniffs the top 5

Do you mean top 5 Red sox or top 5 Boston athlete?

For me Ortiz is #1 as far as Red Sox goes. I never saw Ted play and am not qualified to argue his value so I am basing my choice on my life experience only. I do respect those who watched or studied Ted's playing days though.

2004 was a huge year for me personally and professionally so there is an emotional attachment involved.

Conversations with my Grandmother (born in 1918) added to his folklore or value.

I can understand the argument of Ortiz not being the #1 most valuable Red Sox player but not top 5 seems to be a huge stretch to me.

Again it's an emotional opinion.
