I called 'em "draft howlers" in '08, but FAIL works so much better.

Remember, Pats-specific is better, but any sort of FAIL is more than welcome. :)

So, I'll start with some EPIC FAIL from FootballsFuture.com:

So many levels, all of them FAIL.

As a QB, Tebow is not an NFL starter, but as an H back/receiving TE, he is very intriguing.

Where do you have a link with proof that he has declared for the 2009 draft?

In fact, I've read speculation elsewhere about him going to the Patriots. But in the 1st round? I'd have to agree with the FAIL.

That's part of my point. I'm not the one who wrote that, I just found it. :)

This should be an interesting thread. Should be fun to see which media sources have literally no real insight or understanding of the Patriots system.

I heard the name Tim Tebow enough times in the BCS title game for the rest of my life.

I work with several Georgia grads, who have an inbred hatred for Florida, and the day after the game, I go into my buddy's office and say, "Tom Brady was sitting on his couch last night saying to Giselle, Geez can they ball wash this Teabow kid anymore".

That was truley henious, I thought for a minute that Teabow was Brett Farve's illegitimate son!

Teabow will most likely go back to Florida for another year, he is not a 1st round pick, he has no speed, and running like that is all well and good against 210 Linebackers, but he would not last 4 games in the NFL running like that. H back, or maybe Safety, HE IS SCOTT FROST!!! (hey maybe the Jets can waste another pick).

    21. New England Patriots- OT, Ciron Black, LSU

New England's offensive line is getting up there in age, and they need some fresh young talent to block for Laurence Maroney. Nick Kaczur is injured often and can't be starting for the Pats too much more. Ciron Black is a big boy and a guy who can stick with the Patriots for years to come.

I agree that we need a little help on the O-Line, but don't think it warrants a 1st round pick. I'd go with the common opinion of picking up a LB or DB.

Personally I'd be fine with a round-1 OL, if he was smart, uncommonly agile, technically sound, great with his hands and played with a nasty streak...oh, and had actually declared for the draft. Black's more of the unmovable object type with inconsistent technique, and he's heading back to school. So I'll disagree with your premise, but second your FAIL.

only an idiot would predict us taking him there. maybe in the late 2nd, late 3rd range. hes an HBack/FBack/TE type player who has never even played the position.

I would never draft Tebow #1 and maybe not at #2. Couple of things tho (ballwashing), I'm not sure there's ever been a college player that has been as socially consciouses as him, and as far as Georgia is concerned, they can carry his jock strap, his Heisman, and his two championships (and most likely a third). Secondly, he might not be an every down qb, but he would be the ultimate wildcat qb, he can run and has an arm.

Wow. I'll agree that there's never been a college player who's social conscience has been as highly publicized as Tebow's, but there are plenty of elite athletes with consciences who give of themselves. You don't even have to leave Florida to find an incredible example in Myron Rolle. Rolle has mostly gotten attention for the Rhodes Scholarship and finishing his B.A. & Masters in 4 years, but along the way he got a grant to pursue cancer research, created a entire health education program for Seminole Indian Children, etc. etc. Not to mention that he's choosing the Rhodes over the NFL to further his lifelong goal to open a medical clinic for the indigent.

Nothing against Tebow, who seems like an impressive guy. I just think the coverage of him has gotten bizarre. (I also think it's odd that Tebow's efforts to convert his fellow students are considered equally selfless as Rolle's tutoring his fellow students, but others may disagree.)

Tebow said today that he would be returning to Florida for his senior season.

Also of note, Percy Harvin said he was undecided at the moment, but was leaning towards returning as well.

I stand corrected. Maybe I should have said Heisman trophy winner.

    From sideline scouting.com:

A running back in the first round? After our best rushing season in 25 years? With another first round pick on the roster?

    Fail.

And another, this time from NFLmockdraftaces:

First of all - too high. He's a second rounder for me now. Secondly, ageing vets on Offense? Thirdly - another RB (/WR) in the first round? With help needed on D, which he admits?

Massive fail. If this had been our second round pick I'd have loved it.

And I went a little far, maybe out of Tebow fatigue. :) But it looks like we won't have to see his name on any more mock drafts for a while!

    Great Blue North Draft Report

Gresham from Oklahoma. Definitely a good red zone target but 2 many holes to fill in the defensive secondary, LB and OL.
