Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Justice Hairston...I believe he transfered to CCSU from a 1-A school. Time for some research.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

NFL Draft Scout:

Mike Richardson - CB - 5'11 - 188 lbs

Pro-Day:
40: 4.48
20: 2.61
10: 1.47

Reps: did not lift
Vertical: 36
Broad: 10'7"
Shuttle: 4.05
3 cone: 6.27

The ones in bold I think are pretty AMAZING friggin stats. I think that they are the among best of any CB, but I didn't research it thoroughly.

Start 29 games while playing in 48. Didn't start until his sophomore year.

I have researched him carefully -- blew away the competition with some of his numbers. Lots of upside with this kid. That's 2 for 2 with the Pats and my sleeper picks. I missed all the others though.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Justin Hairston (RB) C Conn

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Justise Hairston RB is the pick

I think he was at Rutgers and transferred out when it became apparant that Ray Rice was going to get the bulk of the carries.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Corey Hillard, OT, Oklahoma State

Rutgers.

War Room analysis
Strengths: Is strong and competitive, and keeps legs churning and fights for every yard. Is aggressive. Runs with good body lean, and gets his shoulder down to consistently knocks defenders backward. Is a smart and patient runner who follows blocks and cuts quickly off them. Is a smooth and fluid athlete. Shows good agility and quickness to make sharp cuts in the backfield to avoid defenders who shoot gaps. Shows the hands to handle off-target pitches.

Weaknesses: Lacks a quick burst through the hole. Lacks the explosiveness and speed to reach the corner. Rarely stays in the game in passing situations, so must not have good hands as a receiver.

Bottom line: Hairston, a three-year letterman at Rutgers before transferring to Central Connecticut State, has everything but ideal speed. He probably will not be drafted but could become an ideal backup.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Had like 1800 rushing yards

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

He had been at Rutgers.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Hairston

Strengths:
Has excellent size and bulk...Strong and powerful runner...Is instinctive with nice vision...A patient runner...Solid blocker...Tough and physical...Coming off a great senior campaign...Athletic with some elusiveness and moves...He still has upside.

Weaknesses:
Timed speed is just average at best...Isn't real explosive and lacks a burst...Runs too tall...Not a great receiver...May not be able to turn the corner and get outside in the NFL...Did not really break out until he was facing inferior competition in '06.

Notes:
Played the first three years of his career at Rutgers but transferred down a level for his senior season when he was going to be stuck behind Ray Rice and Brian Leonard...Intriguing prospect who you can't really blame for his lack of production with the Scarlet Knights considering the talent that was in front of him...A sleeper who could be a late round pick...Potentially a very pleasant surprise for someone.

Is he trashing 6th round picks?

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

Lets see what more surprises that Pats have in store for us...

Re: 7th round discussion

Oscar Lua, LB, USC

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 6th Round Discussion

We need competition for Britt and Kaycur.

So much for the Pats thinking that they were solid at OT. MAN, taking TWO of them.. Definitely didn't see that coming with the needs at LB, CB, and safety.
