Cunningham's a possibility if M. Carter plays well this Sunday.
M Carter isn't on the roster.
Reiss: M. Carter in & Cunningham out ?

Vollmer needs to go on IR.
He's been hurting the team on the field because he's not healthy. Might as well rest up for next season.
"The sixth-round draft choice from Central Arkansas has been recognized in recent weeks by the coaching staff for his exemplary work in practice. He's bulked up from 252 to 268 pounds this year, his commitment in the weight room paying off as he makes the big transisition from the FCS-level to the NFL."
Wow, I like the work ethic. He went from no chance in hell being a DE/OLB here at 6-4 252 pounds, but at 6-4 268 pounds, he's getting there.
Positives: Prototypical height and length off the edge. Nice initial quickness and good closing speed when free to the quarterback or ballcarrier. Plays with strong hands and can get leverage to hold the edge against the run. Stays home against misdirection. Ballcarriers did not elude his grasp in space; he often threw them to the ground like rag dolls. Worked at five-technique at times, and played strong when head-up on tackles. Gets down the line quickly to chase plays. Working to finish his degree in May.
Negatives: Needs to get a bit stronger via a pro strength and conditioning program. Does not time the snap consistently, and stands up too quickly at times. Better straight-line athlete, lacks elite lateral agility. Needs work on spin and other counter pass-rush moves, will not bull rush or rip off pro tackles as he did in college. Does not get to plays when chasing as often as scouts would like. Not a dominant pass rusher at a lower level of competition. Played on special teams, though he fails to break down quickly when approaching returners.
Trying not to be next 3rd grader anxious to meet the new kid in school but if hes improved on (including the strength and weight) some of the things listed in his scouting report, there is reason to be optimistic that this kid can contribute to the pass rush.
As Reiss mentioned, it makes sense to give Carter a shot.
The Patriots have not had a lot of good fortune developing the Vince Redd's, Justin Rogers', Jeremy Mincey's and Shawn Crable's from the draft recently, but no downside to making this move.

Cunningham suffered another hamstring injury? Christ...how many hamstring injuries has he had already?
