No fine for Clark for hit on Welker

If the ball had not been tipped, then Welker wouldn't have been defenseless and the roughness wouldn't have been unnecessary. So you are correct that apart from being completely different, the situations are totally the same.

Well done.

he was defensless because he let up on a LIVE PLAY while the ball was still in the air.

He was the one going across the middle that let up, that's not Clarks Fault. Clark was timing the hit to occur as the ball got there.

Not a burn, just you feeling sorry for your player refusing to recognize that guys get hit like that all the time and you just want something to complain about because your team isn't doing as good as you wished.

Deal with it.

Deal with the fact that since 1996 the Patriots have, by and large, been the Steelers' daddy.

So once a player starts "timing a hit", they are allowed to deliver the hit regardless of what happens on the field? They must have added that to the rulebook this year...presumably while Polian was napping.

And when a pass is deflected, all receivers on the field should immediately drop to the ground to avoid being crushed by a defender? I guess I missed that technique in training camp.

Once again...well done.

Re: No Fine For Clark

David Thomas hit a guy 5 seconds after the whistle blew and everyone was standing around. When Clark hit Welker, the ball (that was tipped) was still in the air.

As far as the Lynch hit, he's clearly leading with his helmet. The "officials" told him something else just like Hochuli told Clark something else. The league fines players, not referees.

The ball was tipped like 10 yards from where Welker was and it was traveling straight down into the turf.

The defender saw that and clocked Welker anyway.

I don't see how anyone can look at some of the other fines handed out and argue against a fine in this case. He hit a defenseless receiver after he knew the play was over (ie. Welker had not shot at a reception).

It was a cheap shot and should have been fined. The league is inconsistent on these fines.

The hit on Welker, like the hit on Brady, came against a member of the NEP. No fine was, or ever will be, forthcoming from the Bills-fan, Jest-employee Omissioner. But hey, at least a flag was thrown this time.
