The Broncos defense is so good they could pick up any qb off the street and they would still win the SB.

You do realize they lost two very important players over the past 24 hours from that defense, right?

Except they just lost Trevathan and Jackson off that Defense.. And they will probably lose more.

Not to mention, we can reasonably expect their near-spotless injury report from 2015 to revert to the norm in 2016.

Marshall could be gone

That would be their best DT and #1 and #2 ILB gone.

But really...if that MLB for STL got that..what is Collins worth and hightower?

It's looking like they'll be worse on both sides of the ball. Back to mediocrity for another decade.

I wouldn't go that far. They still have a lot of talent on that defense, and Elway has done well in FA/draft. But they could very well take a step or two back in 2016.

Um.. You referring to Mark Barron? .. Wouldn't a better comparison for Collins be Derrick Johnson of KC who just signed a 3 yr/ $21M Deal.

Also, Trevathan's deal was 4 yrs/$28M. Again, a much better comparison.

That being said, the Pats NEED to get the extensions done..

If ATL is offering Sanu 7 mill per...he would be crazy not to take it unless he is a select few who actually wants to win..becasue we better not come close to that if he visits us. Don't let him leave ATL

if there was a blackout of news, the
Yep. And I do hold it against them. If someone is offering you 8m per year and there is no real chance of winning a championship, possibly never within your contract time, vs a team offering 5-6 that can...you are a moron.

Again, stupid athletes that their 10 year old selves would kick their a** for even entertaining the idea. Sports is about winning. Period. Money is completely secondary. They get paid more than enough.

Haha, no. Short career - money HAS TO BE a primary consideration.

Here's a hint: many fans take this stuff more seriously than the athletes. Sorry to burst your bubble there, but these guys have been playing all their lives. They're getting paid to be entertainers.

And not all of them can marry Giselle.

Money HAS to be a consideration? We're talking millions. Shave a little off to have a better chance to win a championship? Versus the opposite?

The 10 year old self would laugh at taking the most. Championships are forever. Just like the DE in Carolins. He took less for a good chance to win.

People joke about players using the term "familys got to eat" when talking about millions but it's not too much of an exageration. Think about it, a player goes pro he's going to want to set his family up for life. If the player wants to get mom and dad a new house, his siblings something, and ensure his children will be set for life the difference between 7 mil and 4 mil a year over just a few years goes a LONG way.

It's an extreme exaggeration. Take care of my family. You get 30 million dollars today, right now, you are set for life and your kids lives and your kids kids live etc etc.

Hell you are set at 10 million. Not saying players should go for every last dime. That's their right. Just saying the ones that don't, they get it. The ones that do, don't.

Even with that stacked defense (now much weaker), it took a ridiculous amount of things to go right for them.

My hopefully realistic offensive weapon wish list: Kearse or Matthews, Boldin, Gresham, Powell.

Yeah, but they're not children.

Ray Bourque took less to stay in Boston for years. When they traded him so he could possibly win a Cup, and he did, he brought it back to Boston. He got it. Brady is doing the same.

There are plenty of instances of athletes who get it. Amendola restructured so he could stay.

Come on guys, leniency is only for wife beaters and the Jets....

Other than that, Big Bad Roger is gonna get ya!

Dont forget the guys who are drunk, high, going 140mph with a gun and a 12 year old in the car while evading police.. gotta be lenient on them too because Integrity
