He's not a very natural talker, but I thought he handled it pretty well. Certainly better than I'd handle a conference call.
Who asked the gun question?
Who is the tool that asked him why he had a gun? I Swear some of these people in the media are fools.
he had some good answers..obviously he doesnt really need to answer questions about a few incidents..coaches know about it..he told every team that interviewd him. i like his attitude of "im not worried about playing time..im gonna learn the playbook"
the audio is on Patriots.com
This kid is going to be great; I can't wait.
That sucks that you can hear all the media giggling at him at the end of the call.
I forgot how much that irritates me every draft day.
Can anyone identify the voice asking him why he has a gun?
hes a little nervous talking..and media is being annoying. and also seems the phone is having some problems between media-BM
What a bunch of media jackasses. First they ask him why he had a gun and he indicated that he didnt want to comment on it and a feq questions later they ask him if he has a gun.
boston media..Corey's favorite. probably why he wanted out..old man doesnt like dealing with those pests
Yeah I was looking forward to an interview with Meriweather. He seems like a good person who is just trying to move on from those two incidents. Shoulda known some idiot would be interviewing him. Who was it?
Probably someone from the Herald. They make me embarrassed to be a New Englander. The kid must think he's walking into a den of lions.
Stupid question I know remix, but what exactly happened in the incident with Meriweather?I havent heard about it other than he had "issues".....
Am I the only one who thinks it's perfectly reasonable for the media to ask questions about both the gun incident and the stomping incident? They wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't ask. If they're still harping on it in week 8 then we can all ***** about typical Boston media. But this guy comes with some baggage and there's nothing wrong with asking him about it.
I think Meriweather and one of his team mates were outside and a guy shot shot his friend in the backside and Meriweather used a hand gun and shot the guy three times. But there was nothing illegal about it. Self defense and the fact that Meriweather legally owned the gun.
#1) They were at Willie Cooper's house(a player) and a car drove by..shot at Willie Cooper. Cooper got hit in ass and Meriweather pulled out his gun and fired back at the car. Thats self defense..they were fired upon first..he had a legally owned gun. His major is criminology and his father is a well known cop in Florida i believe
#2) On the field..FIU vs Miami..we kicked the extra point and for some reason..a kid from their taem attacked our kicker and place holder..randomly attacked and a big fight broke out. It was a big brawl..Meriweather was seen running over and then started stomping on 1 of FIU's player's legs.
Yeah, though it's still to be avoided. It can be avoided, so if it can, it's better that it is... I am sure everybody asked him whether he's figured out how to not put himself in those situations, etc. etc. etc.
Yeah, it's legit for the media to grill the stars and prospective stars. Sounds like he dealt with it. Welcome to the bigs.
Hey by the way, welcome to NE in all seriousness Brandon... the kid seems like he can kick ass at half the positions on the field. I love the pick, since they seem to have some kind of understanding about the "issues!"
Den of lions?! Hhhaaa. Those clowns.
I think he handled himself quite well.
The reporter who asked "Why did you have a gun?" and then said "Good answer" is Jim Donaldson from the Projo. Felger was the one who asked "What happened that morning?"
