This is the #1 reason I hate when people say Manning is a better QB than Brady, look at the receivers they’ve been able to play with over the years, Brady has never played with a single receiver over 100 games, Manning has done it with 3 all of whom were all pro’s.

    Brady's Receivers
    Deion Branch – 78 games
    Wes Welker – 77 games
    Troy Brown – 73 games
    Rob Gronkowski – 43 games
    Aaron Hernandez – 38 games
    Randy Moss – 36 games
    Donte’ Stallworth – 17 games
    Brandon Lloyd – 16 games

    Manning's Receivers
    Marvin Harrison – 158 games
    Reggie Wayne – 157 games
    Dallas Clark – 104 games
    Brandon Stokely – 56 games
    Austin Collie – 25 games
    Demaryius Thomas – 19 games
    Eric Decker – 19 games

I don’t hate Manning, but I hate the fact that he is having a good season with an all pro receiving corp. all while Brady is relying on a college QB taken in the seventh round and converted to receiver, an UDFA who has spent more days in jail than a 53 man roster as his top 2 targets this season so far.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Does this also suggest the Colts have done a better job drafting and retaining receivers?

If only there was sort of program that blocks out anything Manning related from my TV and computer. Tired of hearing about this little $h!t.

There's nothing special about scoring tons of points against the Ravens D (who were playing their first game without Reed & Lewis in like 10 years + have JAMES IHEDIBO starting @ safety), and a terrible Giants and Raiders D.

Tom Brady's TD streak, and the fact he's keeping it alive with these rookies on offense, is 1000x more impressive.

Also, all this "Peyton is on pace for 63 TDs and 6,350 yards" is unbelievably stupid. With that logic and optimism, the Chiefs and Dolphins are on pace to go undefeated!

Pardon me for asking, but who was the UDFA that spent time in prison? Simply curious.

Ben Watson 59 games with Brady
    Danial Graham 63 games
    Gronk 43
    AHern 38

One team uses premium picks on TEs
    The other on WRs

Do you think Manning fans are crying about all the stud TEs Brady has been given for his short pass/high % skill set

I included Gronkowski and Hernandez in my list, and Dallas Clark a "stud tight end" played more games with Manning than these 2 combined have played with Brady.

The other tight ends you named are actually laughable that you would label premium anything.

    This is certainly one explanation.

The colts and Manning developed receivers. Manning's receivers chose to stay with him for longer so Brady is a better quarterback. I missed something.

Also, it is interesting that the primary factor in success of a team/quarterback is how the long the receivers stay or are kept.

Are we really saying that Brady would be a worse quarterback if the team spent more money on receivers that offensive linemen?

There's plenty of evidence (and biases) to use in choosing the place in history for Manning and Brady. Somehow, I think that the fact that Brady's receivers chose not to stay with the team is not going to be a key consideration.

That year Tom broke the TD passing record with Moss and crew in 2007. Brady might have had it better targets then just cause Moss was on the team. And he drew so much attention.
Peyton had it good because he played indoors. Marvin Harrison and Reggie were pretty good in the dome. They racked up some numbers.

Starting TEs with 3 SB rings is laughable? Who did more to deliver SB rings....Graham or Manning's lifer WRs.

Watson was drafted in 2004 and was on IR during the super bowl that season so he made no contribution at all.

Graham was drafted in 2002 so he was not part of the 2001 super bowl team, he did play in the 2003 and 2004 super bowls in those 2 games he combined for 5 receptions for 53 yards and 0 touchdowns.

You should at least look and see if the players were even in the league before anointing them catalysts in super bowl victories.

This obsession with Brady having to be better than Manning is getting a little weird. Look we know who we would rather have. But we don't play them until November so why the obsession? Its almost as some of you will feel like a lesser man or woman if Manning breaks 50 TD's.... Who cares? All I care about is Tom and Bill raising the Lombardi for the 4th time in the home of the Giants and more importantly the Jets! That would be awesome.

The year Manning broke the TD record in '04, it was truly a stunning accomplishment. Marino's record of 48 had been completely unchallenged, and throwing for 35 TDs was an MVP season.

    Brady threw 50 in 2007.
    Brees threw 46 in 2011.
    Rodgers threw 45 in 2011.
    Brees threw 43 in 2012.
    Stafford threw 41 in 2011.
    Brady threw 39 in 2011.
    Rodgers threw 39 in 2012.
    Manning threw 37 in 2012.
    Brady threw 36 in 2010.

Point here being that the shelf-life on Brady's 50 TD record is going to be quite short, and no matter who breaks it, the new record will likely fall quickly. Rogers probably could have broken the record two years ago if he'd really wanted it. Manning probably could have had over 49 in 2004 if that was his goal. And if someone ends up with 51, Brady probably could have had 52 in 2007 had he really tried for it.

It starts to get ridiculous when you start saying one guy is much better than another because he averaged 3.15 TDs per game versus another guy who averaged 3.10 TDs per game. All of these players were incredibly dominant (minus maybe Brees because of all the INTs it takes him to get those touchdowns.)
