Light and Welker named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad
Congrats to both.
Yay, I think both were very deserving and I think I predicted both in the Pro Bowl prediction thread.
They wont play but nice for them to be honored.
Cool. Who are they filling in for?
I'd love to see Cassel get added, I'm sure at least one QB won't play in the Pro Bowl. Hopefully Brady will be too busy getting ready for the Super Bowl
That is great. Congrats to Wes and Matt.
Matt seems to be having a great year in 2010.
Still think Logan and Sebastian had good arguments too, though.
Then you'll be pleased to know Logan's half-season of work was enough to get him a starter's spot at the Pro Bowl.
Both will be too busy playing football the following week!
Methinks they're still missing a couple of folks . . .
Too bad they won't be playing in it
If I remember correctly everyone was trashing Light earlier this season (myself included). Funny how things change
Welker is replacing injured Texans wideout Andre Johnson, while Light steps in for Miami's Jake Long, who is also hurt.
Congrats and well deserved.
I think they will be too busy preparing for the Superbowl to actually participate but it is good that they won the award.
Pats send 8 to the pro-bowl this year!
What's the team record btw for most pro bowlers sent in a single season?
People always hate on Light.
But I think throughout his career he has been highlighy underated and I think this has been one of his best years. I think it is important to note that he has pretty much been the only one to protect Brady's blindside.
Awesome, I'm especially happy for Welker who performed admirably coming off ACL surgery.
I have wished for a replacement for Light for quite some time. My only consolation and reason for not getting too hyped up about it is that TFB likes him. If he live with him then I guess I can.
Good for Light and Wes. Hoping they have replacements ready for them too.
Welker's not even the best WR on the Patriots this year, Branch is. Wes is not fully recovered from his injury, both physically (quickness) and psychologically (drops).
Nice Pro Bowl haul for the Pats. I won't be satisfied, though, until Gronk is named.
Oh I wouldn't go that far. Welker is still the best WR on the team. He is more consistent, and 80+ catches is a great season for a guy making an unprecedented return from an ACL tear so quickly. Deion is a good receiver too, but I think Welker is more valuable.
Excellent, let's hope they will be too busy to attend, BTW, Does anyone else think playing the Pro Bowl BEFORE the Super Bowl is foolish? I do, I mean they'll be a number of players named that won't go or can't go.
meh, they deserve it but let's hope that no patriot plays in the pro bowl....
I was wondering if this was meant as an inside joke, let's pick replacement players from teams that have the highest odds of reaching the Super Bowl.
Can you all stop saying that they won't be playing in the Pro Bowl because they are practicing for the SB.
WE ARE NOT THROUGH THE DIVISIONAL GAME YET, TAKE IT ONE GAME AT A TIME!
fans =! coach B
No, they just go down the list and take the next highest vote-getter.
So, do you think the Patriots can beat the bye?
Sorry bjge was good but did not deserve the pro bowl. He had a nice antowain smith like season. Even chris johnson didnt make the pro bowl.
Not sure why you're being a downer about BJGE. But he didn't make the pro bowl if that makes you happy. *shrugs*
I don't see him being a downer. BJGE was awesome for the team, and had na excellent season, especially for where he started it. But he wasn't probowl worthy, not THIS season. Well, not probowl worthy by comparison, and he may never be. The AFC has some very talented young running backs that he'd have to out perform, and many of those RB's will get several more touches because they don't have Tom Brady or Peyton Manning at QB.
TB is the teams best player, and as long as he is playing at this level, we will probably never have a pro bowl RB. I love the balance we had this year but I think we will only ever run ENOUGH to keep defenses honest as long as TB is running the show. I'd love to see BJGE at 1k every season, and I love that we trust him on the 1-3 yard line enough to punch it in. I think he deserves probowl honors but i hope he's too busy playing in the SB every season until he retires.
Actually playing in a probowl is a consolation prize for players who had a fine season and didn't get to play in the Super Bowl. That's the way it should be.
