Kevin Faulk: Defends the Wall
I believe that Roger will fall and will fall in historic fashion. How do I know this? I know this because since the beginning of civilization every empire that has utilized its inherent power to control the masses through lies, deceit and force rather than integrity and truth, has fallen and fallen hard.
Did the Persian king Darius expect to lose to the heavily outnumbered and poorly armed Athenians? No, and now we have the Marathon.
Did General Thomas Gauge think he would be thwarted by a bunch of farmers who had dropped their pitch forks to pick up a musket at the battle of Lexington? No, and about a year later we celebrated our first Independence Day.
Did Hitler expect a bunch of ragtag soldiers from around the globe to stand up in solidarity. Did he realize that his superior Aryan race would soon fall? Did he realize that truth overcomes evil no matter how powerful? Did he understand that the human spirit demands....Integrity?? No and now we celebrate V day.
These glorious battles which represent the true human doctrine of truth and Integrity are not without Heroes. Heroes that gave us hope, gave us a sense of pride and they gave us a reason to push on.
Today we remember these heroes for their sacrifices. Their ability to put the cause above themselves.
In the battle of Marathon we had Pheidippides who ran 26.2 miles to deliver the news of the victory.
In the battle of Lexington we had Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. ( Interesting side note: The Beantown Pub in Boston is the only place you can drink a cold Sam Adams and see a cold Sam Adams at the same time.) (BTW: Sam Adams is buried across the street from the Beantown Pub)
During WWII and the invasion of Normandy we had the great General Patton. (Sorry no pubs)
Edit: Technically not in Normandy but the movie was great. (thanks @TheBostonStraggler )
Today is a new battle which will produce new heroes and new images. Today we have a new hero. We have a man that infiltrated enemy lines in a Trojan like fashion to support the Patriots Cause.
Ladies and Gentlemen I introduce to you......Kevin Faulk... our new Hero.
Our newest hero who has given us hope and one that reinvigorates our drive for truth and Integrity.
So Patriot fans I tell you ...We will not go quietly into the night.... We will not vanish without a fight We're going to live on! We're going to survive!" Today, we celebrate our Patriots Day!
Thank you Kevin Faulk for standing on our wall.
