Every damn media outlet and most of the fans of other teams I've been hearing from keep bringing up Harrison and Ugoh. These are the same people who told us to "stop whining" if we brought up the injuries to our defense during the AFC title game. It's sad that the normally rational fans of some other teams have bought into this Colts are good Pats are evil crap hook, line, and sinker and they don't even realize it.

I'm with you big time. Where were theses guys last year when we didn't have Seymour, Harrison, Gay, Hobbs hand in a cast Wilson,Seau,Light, Maroney was hurt in the AFCCG. I didn't hear a peep about us not having five starters out.Its total BS is what it is. Every time Goober and the Dolts lose theres an excuse. Someone here last week predicted that if indy lost that would be the excuse. If Harrison played indy would have won.

I'm okay with it, because the Colts are doing it too. Rather than seething over the fact that they lost, they're rationalizing it. That's a large part of the reason why the Pats are significantly better.

Since the 2 SB Champs with the most games lost to injuries to starters were the 03 and 04 Pats I guess we are just better than making the injury excuse.
I think we have learned that every game either counts as a win or loss, and excuses, explanations,or whatifs are pointless.
My impression is that when a team loses, and then we here all the 'whatifs' and 'if this guy wasn't hurt' and 'we'll get you next time' way more often than not those guys come back for the rematch, the game plays out totally differently, and the same team wins anyway.

I totally agree with what you said. But I'm not talking about the Colts players,I'm reffering to the media specifically. A couple of years ago someone e-mailed espn's NFL today and asked why they wearn't talking about the Pats more as far as going deep into the playoffs. And the answer was "were sick of talking about the Pats" I wonder sometimes because a team like the Colts are a storied franchise and the Pats haven't been, if there is a little bias. I get the impression the media is rooting for Indy to win. The Pats are suppose to be losers, the state of things is out of order with the Pats winning as much as they have. And everything needs to go back the way it use to be.

The media is rooting for anyone but the Pats. You can almost hear Jim Nantz's happiness when the Colts did something positive, and sadness when the Pats did something good. It was very noticable. You can almost hear him implore the Colts after the Pats took the lead, saying something to the effect of "The Colts were in the same situation in the AFCCG 6 months earlier " (down 4 and with the ball).

The TV audience got shots of Marvin Harrison on the sidelines at least 10 times.

I really think it has to do with BB personality he obviously loaths the media and won't play the game. Hes the face of the franchise in many ways so they hate it when someone that won't bow down to them wins, then ignores them.

Tired. Way tired. Wonder what everyones excuse is going to be next week when the Chargers bounce back and give the Colts their second consecutive loss.

I got blasted for starting a thread talking about the way the media was setting up the inevitible Indy loss with the 'Harrison will most likely be out of the game...huge blow for the Colts' talk before the game even started. Hate to say I told you so, but...(and I'm not directing that at anyone in particular, but you could see it coming a mile away)

It's unfortunate but true: Indy welcomes the excuses (as referenced by Peyton's postgame press conference) and, being the media darlings they are, get all the press coverage slanted toward that angle.

I guess all that's left to be done is complete domination by the Pats in January when Harrison and his gimpy old knees is back on the field. That should shut up all the mediots who LOVE to make excuses for the Colts while deriding the unethical, immoral Patriots.

Or maybe it won't, but Belichick and company will be holding the Lombardi in the end, which will make everything leading up to it that much sweeter.

Hasn't Asante pretty much shut Harrison down the last few times they played anyway? I know he did for sure last year.

Sorry about that, I have a nasty habit of reading the first post, scrolling through the rest and then blindly posting away.

Anyway, as much as I hate reading all this crap--the cheating, the asterisk's, the excuses--it makes me happy to know that the Pats have a giant billboard in their locker room and it's filled to the gills every week with new 'eFF You' material. If there's such a thing as the 'ultimate motivational tool', the Pats have it this season.

What is it with this team??? Every damn time it is something else...going back to 03, 04 05...it was the cold, we were too rough, Mathis was out...blah blah...Where is that great Tedy B soundbite giving them the business about the excuses. I believe it was after one of the AFCCG games.

Hey...we were without Sammy Morris and Wilson...stop the @#$% whining!

Ever hear of Bang cartoons? The specialize in nfl satire. In one of the cartoons Green Bay fans are sick of making up excuses for Favre throwing ints. So a company comes up with excuseOmatic which will just play excuse's so one doesn't have to say a word. I.E The dog ate my play book, the sun was in my eyes, donald driver ran the wrong route, I'm allergic to field turf.and many more. Its gotten to the point with indy that it should have its own excuseOmatic. It could play some of the excuses you wrote. It was to cold, we had injuries, we don't play well on grass etc.
