Bill Belichick: Why not let coaches challenge everything?
Posted by Michael David Smith on December 3, 2013, 2:09 PM EST

Everyone is crying over Saints'blown call. Ya should listen to da Bill Belichick guy. He is truly the Mona Lisa Vito of the football game.

If it is true that referees could call holding on every play, allowing anything to be challenged would introduce a strategy of holding back a challenge for late game key plays your opponent makes. Just claim they were holding and chances are you'll find something on replay and voila, a huge play negated.

There will be only one play in each game. The chance of a missed call + the chance of NY overturn it +the net benefit. The influence should not be that big unless that play can end of your season.

Yeah an important play, say like the Miami Miracle play. They get the TD and you throw the flag claiming there was holding on the line after the snap.

What is your logic? If there was a obvious foul on that play and could be corrected upon further review, you should not change it because it impacted the game too much? The NFL is a globally consumed product; it should be consistent. It is also a game of inches like no others; there should be a way to make it consistent.

I'm saying it sounds good in theory to be able to challenge everything but after every big play you now not only have to delay celebrating while waiting for a yellow flag, you will also have to wait to see a challenge flag from the other sideline. You missed my point that EVERY play has some sort of holding or interference. That means every big play can be negated. There WILL BE holding on every play. How would this work?
