Pats fan since day one. This will be our first trip to Buffalo. Any suggestions on good restaurant, bars, things to do while there. We are planning on arriving Friday afternoon and coming home Monday. Anyone else going to the game?

Don't wear Pats gear to the game... people with throw beer on you.

That's not true, last year no one threw any beer at us. All the Bills fans we were around seemed to have no problems with us.

As for what to do, well if you arrive Saturday, take a drive up to Niagara Falls (we stay at the Hampton Inn by the airport, so it's about 30 minutes north) and check out the Seneca Casino. You can also go across to Canada if you want (better Casinos and clubs), but I think you might need a passport.

We'll be staying at the La Quinta Inn at the airport so Niagara seems like a good choice especially the casino. Of course we are going to wear our Pats gear to the game. Thanks for the reply.

Going to the Buffalo game with a group of 30 guys. Staying on the Canadian side two blocks from the Falls. At this time all you need is a photo ID and a birth certificate to cross the border. Also looking for suggestions on places to see, things to do while there.

I know it was posted elsewhere, but just to spread the word....

The Rochester and DC Patriots fan clubs tailgate in Lot 1 (Land Cruiser) on the South side of the stadium (beyond the field house). Last year we joined them and plan on doing it again this year. It was great, like being at a home game, tons of Pats fans. Check out the Bills website to get a map and spread the word!!

What time are you guys plan on meeting up....we would love to join you.

I would expect we'd try and get there by 4:00. Last year we showed up about 8:30 for a 1:00 game and arrived just about the same time the fan clubs were getting there. When you come into Lot 1, you turn right after you pay (last year I think Ralph Wilson himself was collecting the money, and it was cheap, $10 I think, we parked over the line, so instead of moving we just paid another $10 and had two spots!). Anyway, after the right, just head down parallel to the road you came in on, most of the Pats fans should be parked along the guard rail. If I rememer there really weren't many people directing where to park, so just pick a space (not to close to the port-a-johns), you don't want people lining up through your tailgate).

From last year's trip (courtesy of NYPatriots fan club, we crashed the photo, mine is the Patriot Jersey Coozie on the bottle upper right):

Last year was a great time. You can see my beer in the group photo - last one on the right (above the crowd). I think there were more Pats fans in that lot than Buffalo fans.

We're arriving friday. Richardhead told you about the tailgate wolf which includes multiple fan groups. We're arriving at the lot by 3pm with generators ready for the fun. Here is the post from the tailgate meetup thread with a map. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the usual location for the Buffalo tailgate meetup if you're coming up. It's lot #1 (Landcruiser lot) between lightpost Y6 and the pedestrian walkway. You'd enter this lot off 20A. Murphysfans and Patriots NY are regulars in this spot as it's usually 80-90% pats fans.

email me at [email protected] if you have any questions regarding the weekend. We arrive friday afternoon.

Wolf, are you driving from NH on Friday?

The anchor bar is a must, it's where the buffalo wing was invented. Tullys and St. James place are two of the sports bars we'll hit, both close to your hotel. The falls, casino and canadien ballet are also very fun things to do.

Have a good trip! Maybe we'll see you at tailgate. We'll be in the Dark Green Honda Pilot with Mass Patriots plates.

1st - feel free to wear your jersey's / pats gear - by and large the Bills fans are decent people. It's always a good rule of thumb to remember were you are when wearing your gear. Obnoxious fans usually get harassed, but any "good fan" is generally respected.

2nd- stay away from the anchor bar - although they invented the wing, many places have perfected them. If downtown head to Gabriel's Gate on Allen, near the stadium is Duffs.

3rd - nightlife - if you are 20-25 head to Chippiwa Street, 30-40 head to Allentown/ Elmwood area. Niagara Falls is nice - Canadian side is ALOT better - no passport needed, but make sure everyone in your car has ID. If you have kid bring birth certs.

BTW - the weather is gonna be pretty crappy all weekend so bring your winter gear. Good Luck and Have fun.

This will be our first time up to Buffalo. We will be taking a bus up there so we cannot tailgate on the steps of the bus.
My friends said that you guys might pity us, and let us enter the friendly Pats zone, so we don't end up wandering around aimlessly. We would hate to have to pick on the Buffalo fans all by ourselves.
So do we have to go it alone....or may we enter......and drink many beers in trade for my green papers......

This will be my 2nd trip to Buffalo. Very excited. Place should be loud with a night game. I'm hoping Pats fans show up in drives.

Good point, just this morning I added "snow shovel" to my packing list in case we have to clear out our tailgate spot :)

Looked at the parking map and it appears we'll have to park in the "bus" specific lot. Which looks to be quite a distance from the landcruiser lot.
For the folks that have been to the stadium before, what can I expect when I go in as far as seating and any other thoughts you have about the place.
Thanks
