Just a quick thought about something we know and don''t say out loud enough
From the start of the season there have been literally hundreds of stories about Tom Brady's "revenge tour". You know that's true, because we've read most of them. The way the season is going there will be hundreds more and this story line will last right through the superbowl and well beyond. But there is a problem with this narrative that has been bothering me for some time. It is only HALF the story.
Sure they all explain that Brady is on fire because of what happened this off season, and add how the the league's actions are fueling the Patriots' dominant season. However I have yet to read a national article that takes the OBVIOUS next step. The real narrative shouldn't be, "Tom Brady is playing like a man of fire". Instead is should be, "Tom Brady is playing like a man who has been falsely accused" !
By never actually saying that, or leaving it "implied", the mediots are aiding Goodell's narrative, and it is starting to piss me OFF! It is just like the 2007 team they constantly compare this teamto. They never say that the thing that fired up THAT team was they they felt they were FALSELY labeled cheaters for doing something that was perfectly legal.
They never say it out loud because every time they did it, it would be an indictment of Goodell and the league, and they these mutts don't bite the hand that feeds them. There should be some sort of campaign to make them aware of this gaff and get them to say it out loud. We can start locally.
Why are the Pats on fire? Because they are just sick and tired of being FALSELY accused. It is as simple as that.
