Why do we not incorporate it more?
In Manning's case, I was saying we should try more all out pressure.
It's the difference between dying slowly or dying quickly.
incorporate doesnt mean that rushing more than 1 will result in a sack. its hard to sack manning ...they pressured him more than i thought they would frankly
Not sacking. Rather put pressure on Manning to throw faster than he wants. That's what other teams do to Manning. Look at what happens when you do not pressure him. He scores 14pts really fast. When he was pressured by Cunningham, he lobbed the ball, and Sanders got the INT.
Manning and Brady are pocket QBs. If you blitz them and pressure them, they will make mistakes.
Patriots have not still have not played well in the 4th quarter. They need to improve on this, or they won't go far in the playoffs. Scoring little and allowing TDs in the 4th can only go so far...
I am really worried about the Jets game. Pats do not do well in the 4th quarter, when the Jets are 4th-quarter miracle-workers..
I don't think it is quite as simple as saying extra pressure = success.Freeney's sack, the Colt's pressure in the 2nd half and Cunningham's final rush were all game momentum changers.

Score at start of 4th quarter, plan/need to do, and result:I am really worried about the Jets game. Pats do not do well in the 4th quarter, when the Jets are 4th-quarter miracle-workers..
Its not just the deep pass that is the risk either.I don't think it is quite as simple as saying extra pressure = success.
Sometimes that extra pressure doesn't get there in time, or at all.
The result is often one of those TD highlight passes to Wayne or whomever.
Thing is the DB ends up getting the blame rather than the extra pass rusher on those plays.
If extra pressure was always a positive and never a negative then every team would bring extra pressure on every snap. Unfortunately it's not quite that simple.

Play coverage, get toasted. Be aggresive and give yourself a shot. Hopefully they figured that out today. Fine let Big Ben feel like a hero and go up and down the field. When it's Peyton Manning your just asking for trouble.
All out pressure gets you killed against a QB like Manning. Count how many men we sent when Cunningham almost got to Manning. I bet we rushed 4, 5 at the most. I think it's encouraging that the D got to PM when the game was on the line. I just find it unfortunate they could do nothing in the previous two 4th quarter drives which made the game close in the first place.
