Game thoughts (briefly):
No spark on offense due to the lack of starting receivers and an offensive line that couldn't stop a horde of children rushing for the pizza delivery guy, defense was decent but without browner, and having to be on the field so much because of the poor offensive performance they looked well below what they should have.
People say Brady had a bad game, and yes it wasn't his best. But I find it hard to blame Brady at all when you take his best receivers out of the game and give him an offensive line that sucks.
Jimmy G. was the most exciting part of this game and some of the plays he made on his feet were pretty crazy. Unfortunately, as was the case with Brady, we didn't get to see Garoppolo go full-tilt because he was constantly running for his life when the pocket inevitably collapsed almost instantly on practically every play. If he had the starting team around him we would have gotten to see what he is truly capable of but he performed well nonetheless. Also some of the playcalls that Josh Mickey D's made when Garoppolo came out were just stupid calls. He called too many gimmicky plays and should have just stuck with a passing offense- we're the NE patriots for crying out loud, pass the ball. Go out of the shotgun if your line can't hold.
