I thought LaRon Landry was Ed Reed Jr?

you know a lot of ppl knocked me for wanting ed reed in that draft
they said: come on we have tebucky!

nope Ed Reed Jr.

Bingo. Nelson is probably my favorite player in the draft.

You guys should play close attention to any Florida defensive player in this draft. They had a great defense last year, and more importantly, Meyer and Belichick are tight.

Brandon Siler is the other guy you should be watching.

Nelson is supposed to be slipping...

Nelson just ran a 4.35 40 with a 6.67 3 cone and a 4.15 short shuttle. If he was sliding, he's not anymore.

Yes, that has been established.

He won't "slide" in terms of teams souring on him but players drop all the time. People always focus on the 23 teams ahead of us but forget the other side, that only 23 players can go before us. That said, I think he'll be gone at #24 :)

That wouldn't be bad at all. Nelson is a true impact player. They could then grab a corner (Josh Wilson?) or a linebacker (David Harris?) at 47...
Yeah, there wasn't any meat behind that rumor but it was a totally reasonable way of thinking. If we ended up with Nelson and Harris I would be very happy.

I really hope we draft him. I've been a huge Gator fan all my life and I've seen pretty much every single game that he's played. He'd fit perfectly in the Pats' scheme.

Really? I heard he runs around a 4.5
Yeah, just stick a 3 in front of that 5.

4.35 on grass

Do you have a link?
It was on NFL Network. Evidently he blew away the scouts on more than just the 40, and is expected to shoot up the board to mid-first round.

I'm not sure if anyone said this yet but...

Don't ever count on players working out for a team to actually be picked by that team. Most of the time players work out as a "distraction" for teams to think oh the Pats want this guy?

Again, Maroney worked out for us at Gillette last year.

Most of the time a workout shows legitimite interest at some level. Of course, most of them aren't drafted by your team because there's 31 other teams who can pick the player.

I have been thinking about this also, but in relation to Anthony Gonzales. After Ginn was out with the injury in the BCS Champ, Gonzales could not get open against the UF defense. I'm sure that info has been discussed b/w BB and Meyer, and I don't expect the Pats to take him, despite many mocks that do. Of course, not many mocks the past several years have correctly predicted BB's moves...

Nelson solid at UF workout

The Gators safety wows NFL officials with speed and play-making ability.

Anything from Florida I think the Pats will look at, Nelson's no different. Before we got Thomas I thought Moss (DE from Florida, OLD ina 3-4) would be a no-brainer. But now it looks like Nelson could be the next one. Lets wait and see..

Nelson's performance is front and center on the ESPN football page. I would love to see the Pats pick him up, but I dont think he will be there by the look of things.

Last year NE worked out Chad Jackson, Jeremy Mincey, and Maroney. All were drafted by NE. So, yea if they are working these guys out they are probably interested in them, but that doesn't mean NE will draft them. Also, Nelson is probably gone in the top 15, and no later than 22.

Nelson can improve with time if we draft him.
