    Anyone know, approximately how much the TE Franchise Tag is going to be this year?

    I could not find it anywhere. Bad internet seach ability.

    Well, I can't tell you what its going to be this year, but I can let you know that it was 3.327 Million for the 2006 season.

    Wow that low?

    Even if you multilpy by 20% it would only be about $4mil this year. If the Franchise tag for Tight Ends is less than $5mil how can you not use it on DG? He is worth $4.5mil for one season no question.

    He is in his prime, and you have no long term liability.

    You don't even have to pay that much. We can offer transition tag money, and accept a 1st if someone else wants him.

    Lock up the TE's if you have one. I'd rather see him get a contract because with the 2X TE sets coming into fashion again that price is higher.

    Belichick/Pioli have gone on record that they really don't like to use the tag ... i don't blame them. Even a small premium for DG is a worthwhile investment. Keep his career to coincide with Brady.
