Pretty interesting hearing their take and seeing all the close-ups of Eagle players reactions, etc. The announcers are certainly slanted to the Eagles but not as bad as other crews I've seen, over all they are good.

I thought they were terrible. I understand the home broadcast is naturally going to focus on the home team. But is it too much to ask that they call out who made the tackles? Or kept the camera on the pile long enough to see the players get off the pile instead of immediately switching to a camera view of some obscure eagle drinking gatorade on the bench?

I was going nuts because as soon as the tackle was made they went to the sideline. I couldn't see you was doing what and they only showed the entire field view for barely a second before the ball was snapped. I had a very hard time trying to figure out who was on the field.

What was more depressing was they didn't switch over to the Pats broadcast for the 2nd half. Normally NFLN will use each team's broadcast for a half.

the thing i hated was that they kept making excuses for the eagles, esp. on Edelman's punt return. they kept saying how tired the eagles players were after the botched first attempt due to the penalty. well, herm, don't you think the pats players were tired too? i think they are still bitter about 04'.

i also saw the jets game. you should have seen how happy the crowd was after scoring a single touchdown.

I thought it was awful. I mean, I'm all for homerism - But that was stupid. I thought the comment at the begining, "If you are looking for fair and balanced, this is not where you will find it", was kinda funny - But good god - That was the worst game calling I've ever had to listen to.

I watched the game a few more times, and I muted the anouncers.

I think this year they are using the full broadcast of the home team.

On the punt they said the same thing as the Pats broadcasters that it was a dangerous situation because you have to run down field twice.

When Seymour jumped they blamed Peters until seeing the replay.

When the Pats stuffed a 3rd and short they said the Patriots D-line was just beating the Eagles O-line.

They complimented Brady and the O-line again and again complaining that the Eagles needed to generate a pass rush.

I'm not saying they didn't have a homer slant but so do the Patriots broadcast. You have to listen to a Steeler or Cowboys broadcast to compare it. The home team never is at fault with those guys.

The announcers are terrible, constantly talking over each other. They also apparently never bothered to look over the Pats' roster before the game. (Who is Nick Kak-sir???)

I could not stand the commentators. I just find something wrong with calling the team "my team" or "our team" during a broadcast. It's one thing to make excuses for the team, which they did plenty of for the Eagles, but it's another thing entirely to keep referring to them as "our team" in a live broadcast. They had to know that Eagles fans weren't the only people who tuned in to watch. It was so annoying.

OMG... late in the second quarter, the guy goes to a commercial break and says "Eagles 21, Eagles 6."

Well if their doing what is essentially a national broadcast their standards should be a lot higher.

Last year i complained about Gill and Gino after Listening to those clowns from Philly Thursday night never again. At least gill and gino would give who is on the field, who made the tackle, whether it was a good or bad play etc. and they do it for both teams.

They are preseason commentators on the EAGLES network. Of course they are going to be totally biased towards Philly it's their job to! They are hyping up Eagles fans for the season and filling them in on new faces that may be able to contribute to the team this year. There is simply not enough time in the game nor is it their intention to be unbiased in the first place.

They weren't that bad. If you think that was bad, just watch one Raiders broadcast and you will know what I'm talking about. Seriously, these guys hype up every freaking player on that squad like their the best at their position in the NFL. However, I didn't notice it as much as usual on Thursday night against the Cowboys.

Disagree. They were horrendous in many aspects. I believe Julian "EL-du-man" would agree with me. For me it wasn't about any bias for the Eagles, it was about them just being SUCKY at their jobs - play-by-play AND analysis. Putridly called.

I knew it was going to be a bad broadcast when they announced the pats D as a 3*4 front instead of the 4-3 front that they were running. I t just got worst from there.

i had the privilege of watching the game at seven on the local broadcast and then i rewatched it on nfl network later. Our 2man crew of Don and Randy was MUCH better than the eagle's crew. They were more informed. Also, our local broadcast was brought to us by a CBS film crew and showed much better angles of our players and the eagles. CBS is my fav channel to watch nfl games. The Philadelphia broadcast looked more like the games on Fox(they zoom in on players and don't let you see the entire field because they think it is cool to show how HD one player looks).

For example, on the local broadcast for us pats fans they showed eric alexander get trucked by RB#34 near the goal line for a TD. They then showed the play on replay and you see Alexander had the perfect opportunity to stop him in the backfield but i guess he's weak.

On the other broadcast you might not have even known that Alexander was trucked. The funny thing is that it was a highlight for an eagle player and their own broadcast did not show this play on the highlights or anything. All you see is him scoring on the highlights, not the trucking.

Well, it's the only fair way to do it. The NFLN only replays an existing broadcast, so they have to do one or the other. Using the home team is fair. We'll get our duo on weeks 2 and 4.
