First 2024 Mock

TE Erick All has nfl talent written all over him. He transferred to Iowa from Michigan and sort of disappeared. Great late pick.

Trade 3 to Minny for 11, 23 & 2025 1st
Trade 11 to Arizona for 27, 35 & 2025 4th

23: Tackle, Mims or Fautano
27: wr: McConkey
34: qb: nix or penix
35: Tackle, Morgan or Paul
68: wr: Rice
103: hb: Irving or Shipley
137: te: johnson

Not a big fan of the trade down and stockpile picks cuz I think we should get a top QB, but this would be a great haul. 2 tackles, 2 wrs (X and slot), 3rd down back and TE. And it gets us a 1st and 4th rounder for next year!

This would be a fantastic result but I’d be worried about Penix and Nix being gone by 23. Penix is gonna shoot up the board, not sure about Nix. But your scenario shows what our draft capital can do, as opposed to staying put and investing in Maye at #3.

Risky move but I might favor Nix or Penix at 23 or 27, which will be called a reach of course. But every draft pick is a crap shoot, we really do not know how they will do in the NFL..
Always reminded of the '21 draft and #2 Zach Wilson and #3 Trey Lance and of course McCorkle at #15.

So I made a few trades.

Not being a big college fan, I decided to do my first mock and see if I could overcome my ignorance by fully committing to trading down to accumlate enough 2024 volume picks to give me a decent shot of netting 4 or 5 decent players, as well as stockpiling 2025 premium picks. I selected 23 players (just took highest rated players at positions of need) while netting these 2025 picks: 1 1st, 4 2nds, 5 3rds, and 3 4ths.

23, 27, 34 & 35 - while still retaining 68, 103, 137, 180 and 231?

Intriguing.

The 21 draft was the covid draft, it is an outlier, you could not judge the 2020 season as many players sat out, they played fewer games, practices were limited etc. I think it just made the scouting process way harder, Zach Wilson was not good in 2019, Mac Jones was a part time player in 2019 and Trey Lance was in the FCS and played nobody in 2019, played 1 bad game in 2020 and that was it.

This year is kind of the opposite, due to covid many of these QB's played an extra year and the scouting process can be much better than the 2021 draft.

Just for fun I accepted just about every trade offer made to the Patriots.

If they don’t trade down from #3 at least once, then they’re missing a golden opportunity to add extra pieces of young, inexpensive Talent to this shyte roster.

And they still wont have a QB as talented as Maye or Daniels. What this means is that next year you will be in Minn shoes and the qb at the top wont be as good but will cost as much to move up for. You suck this year and then let someone else pay a ransom to move up into the top next year.
