We have not done well against the Broncos for the past decade or so but for the first time in quite awhile I think Denver almost has become one dimentional this year and its now the pass compared to how dangerous they they have always been on the ground plugging in no-name guys who do well.

I think the last time we faced them Denver has the 'Bell' boys carrying the ball

But this year Denver's running game does not seem to scare me at all,Selvin Young has a 5.7 YPC right now but I don't fear him being a factor in this game and if you slow him down, Denver becomes pass crazy.

On top of that, a guy that has burned us in the past, Brandon Stokely will likely sit out with the remnants of a concussion he suffered in the game against the Jaguars last week.

I think Pees would be wise to send alot of blitzes from the OLBs and Safeties to put pressure on Cutler because I think if you can keep Royal and Marshall fairly well covered and put lots of pressure on Cutler you will beat the Broncos

Pressure in the pocket vs. Cutler will be the key to this game - They cannot afford to give Jay as much time as they gave Phillip last week

The Denver running game does not scare me and it should be shut down fairly easily - Now its time to put pressure on the QB and this game is ours (easier said than done of course)

There is no Tomlinson on the Broncos to force the safeties to play closer up to the line like they were last week and leave the CBs 1 on 1 - That could be the difference between getting pummeled by SD and beating Denver.

BTW: I do believe this still will be a high scoring game

I think it is important that we keep cutler in the pocket, he seems to be better when he gets outside it. Keeping containment and getting pressure up the middle will trouble Cutler.

But Young is looking good this year i don't think there as 1D as you think and Pittman is doing a great job of punching them home in the RZ.

Well, I have Young in 3 of my Fantasy teams, and his numbers have sucked in all of them, and I do believe he's a doubt for the game anyway.

The Broncos are 10th in the NFL in rushing yards per game and 5th in yards per rush. Whether the names concern anyone or not, as a team they still run the ball very effectively.

Selvin Young will NOT be doing the running this Monday Night.

Rather, Michael Pittman, who rushed for 109 yards last week, will be doing the running.

He got a lot of tough yards last week, but also found a few holes. He had a 40 yard run called back last week on a holding call on the other side of the run...so he could've had 150 yards last week.

Andre Hall will mix it up a couple of times on a run, he's more of a speed guy.'

I don't know if Selvin will be ready for this week or not, but if he is, it'll be barely and he'll wind up with 5-7 carries or so.

Ryan Torain, the Broncos rookie who's been out injured is just going to miss being ready this week...the Broncos think VERY highly of him, and many Broncos fans are really looking forward to the time when he gets an opportunity.

That's all you need to know about the RBs right now...

in the past few years it hasn't mattered who ran for denver, they gained yardage. No name, undrafted free agents.. they plug a guy in and he gets yardage due to the scheme.

RYOb beat me to it; I'm more concerned with Pittman. And as dtbrks pointed out, past history suggest that it doesn't really seem to Shanahan which back runs the ball.

What really concerns me is a parallel to the San Diego game. It seemed to me that the defensive scheme was so focused on stopping Tomlinson on the ground, and LT and Gates on short passes, that the secondary was extremely vulnerable to the pass. I just don't want this week's defensive scheme to be so focused on stopping Marshall and the passing game that Pittman & company are running for six or eight yards every time they get the ball, setting up 2nd and short, moving the chains, and leaving the defense on the field for too long.

The Denver Oline is more of a concern than the RBs. Their scheme just seems to produce on the ground regardless of the ballcarrier.

    No Jersey Selected

Considering how our defense has looked as of late (allowing a J.T. O'Sullivan 49er team to put up 21 points and allowing San Diego to pass and run at will), anything scares me. Hopefully our guru head coach (and that's not meant in an insulting manner) has shored up those holes and we can go into the Denver game with the defense that we have become accustomed to seeing over the years. To answer your question though, no. Their running game does not put the fear of God in me. The passing game does though and if we cannot get a pass rush AGAIN then we are going to get torched. Besides Hobbs, that secondary is still too green (and that includes O'Neal).

Denver shares the carries like the Pats do, so who cares about Young? The real threats will be Marshall and Royal. Both of these guys are superb route runners and Marshall is a homerun threat vs. anyone. Cutler has gotten decent protection and with the performance of the Pats' secondary, I expect these two to catch about 18 balls between them (11 for Marshall, 7 for Royal is my guess).

The Pats' best chance to shut these two down is if Cutler locks onto Marshall as he's had a tendency to do in the previous Broncos games. If he spreads the ball around, the Pats will have their hands full.

    Regards,
    Chris

I guess you can call Deltha O'Neal green, in the way that cheese turns green once it's past its prime.

No, but then again neither did Chad Pennington, and look how that turned out...
