It's just my opinion. I think if anything like that was happening, it is my opinion, nothing would take place without BB knowing.
He has already put all those accolades in the past in jeopardy. It was against the rules to continue Spygate, and he did. It was blatant. The fact it was blatant disobedience is why he was punished.
But we're talking about the idea that a coach with BB's accolades, track record and regard for his and his teams place in history would happily use cheating tactics simply as a means to an end. I suppose a coach could coach that way but I don't see it in this case.
Spygate happened because BB took that memo and interpreted it his own literal way, specifically the words "in game" in order to get any possible edge for his team - the latter being something any great coach would do. It was more complex than "blatant disobedience". I'm sure he wishes he made a different decision, as we all do.
