Does anyone remember Aikman saying Brady was complaining about having back problems on Friday? Also, they showed him stretching awkwardly during the game.

Could it be adjusting to the new turf? ...or maybe getting body slammed into the ground a few time ;)

Hope it's not a lingering issue - wasn't it back issues that did in Montana?

Naaaahhhh! Haven't you seen the injury reports for the last two or three years? Shoulder problem, every week, for years. That must be why he's stretching funny. :D :D :D

He said that Brady had discomfort in his back after practicing on the FieldTurf for the first time this past week. Aikman attributed it to FieldTurf being a harder surface than grass.

Jeez, don't take something with a basis in fact and go nuts with it. Yes, they said he had a bit of a back issue. No it's not going to "do him in".

Personally I would take anything "Troy" said with a grain of salt. I found his performance amateurish and lacking in pertinent information. Often getting facts incorrect, such as after Hawkins was flagged for pass interference he kept referring to Sanders as being the one that was flagged. He also said several time that " a process of installing field turf that usually takes six weeks was done in less that two, he felt that something was missed in the installation process". As if to say that the field was substandard because of the short time. He never mentioned once that there were three crews working around the clock to get it done in the time needed. As a commentator he is supposed to be neutral, and he came of as Anti Patriots. Over all, a poor performance. by "Troy"

the new turf doesn't have a thing to do with anything. the team has already been practicing on fieldturf for years.

and iguide, i find your troy bashing amateurish and lacking in pertinent information. i thought he did a good job.

Montana missed almost an entire season less than halfway into his career due to a disk operation. He came back from it, played 7 more years, won 2 more super bowls. I see little to no correlation with Brady here.

A gotta agree with iguide here. I thought the whole Fox broadcast was about trying to paint the Pats as bad guys. Why else show the Pats defense trying to change the spot of the ball? They also made a snide comment about BB's treatment of sideline reporters.

I just felt like Fox decided to create good guys and bad guys for this game and the Pats were the bad guys.

I disagree with how Buck and Aikman were painting the Pats as bad guys. Personally, if they caught any player from any team kicking the ball to adjust the spot on camera, they would show it. In fact, they almost portrayed it as the Pats players being so sharp that they know how to gain every advantage. I thought they almost made it look like a good thing.

Fox like every other broadcast try to manufacturer stories within the game to make it more interesting. That was all Aikman was doing with Brady's back pain. The field turf was a storyline for this game and Brady said he had back problems to Aikman. Aikman tried to connect the dots right or wrong to enhance the storyline. That's it.

I was not a big fan of Aikman as a player, but I actually think he is a pretty good broadcaster. Joe Buck on the other hand.

I'm pretty sure the ball kick was accidental ;) but I'm talking about equal time. Do we really think Chicago played that entire game like little football angels? I doubt it. Given what happened at the end of the game I think Matt Light might agree with me.

I don't know. The camera caught a Patriot trying to nudge the ball for more than a second or two. Accidental would be less. But who cares.

It did look like he was trying to move the ball. Stuff like this happens all the time, but they aren't caught on camera. When they are, they are usually shown.

I don't think Fox was going after the Pats. I think the only reason it was even picked up was because they were going to pull out the chains and they probably already had one of the cameras locked on the ball for a measurement.

I know Fox is known to Right Winged, but I didn't see a vast Right Wing conspiracy vs. the Pats on Sunday.

Hmm. I naively thought that by adding a smiley to my post that it would be clear I was joking about it being accidental. Oh well lesson learned.:(

I know that this is an attempt at humor, but please keep your political opinions out of this forum. It is just not necessary. We have a political forum for you though.

I am not political. This is a play on what is pop culture. "Vast Right Wing conspiracy" quote is part of the popular lexicon. It is common knowledge that Fox's leanings are to the Right and this thread is about Fox's "conspiracy" against the Pats on Sunday. It was a play on words, not a political statement.

I don't share my political views on a sports message board.

IMO, the reason Vinnie got called in was because Brady had taken a serious beat down in several games.

Vinnie may have been waiting for the call, as it now sounds like, but I believe he was brought in 'timing wise' because Brady has been a punching bag during those frequent weeks when his WRs did not get seperation and/or his left tackle and O-Line didn't block well.

The Vinnie move appeared to me to be related to the amount of hits Brady sustained.

Let's face it, Brady plays hurt every year, like most great players in this sport.

Joe Buck sounded like he was a local Bears reporter, he was such an obvious homer. I know that it was an away game so his audience was Chicago, but still...
