Anyone catch that on pats all access. BB always compliments opponents but he really never comes out and gives his opinion on awards. i thought it was interesting. Seems like he doesnt dislike jauron as much as the other coaches .:)

He has a history with Jauron either as a coach of him or a peer, have heard similar things said by him during the past... Jauron also was not a lemming who followed the rest when the did their sanctimonious thing when spygate was overblown. He also has done a pretty good job.

To get this Buffalo team to 4-4 with all their issues is a great job. And figure if they don't lose two games on last play FGs, they could be 6-2. But in order to take it to the next level they need one of their QBs to step up. But Jauron has done a great job whatever happens. Bill knows well how hard it is to be successful in the NFL. If the Bills were healthy and the QB situation was settled, they'd probably be talking wild card.

I knew in the offseason that the Bills were going to be a competitive team, but wrote them off after losing so many players to injury. Jauron most definitely deserves COTY.

(And yes, that was a gratuitous pat on the back.)

Did Jauron when he was with the Bears bet out Belichick for COTY in 2001. I remember thinking that it was ironic that BB did one of the greatest coaching jobs ever in NFL history but did not get COTY that year.

I'm not surprised he is giving kudos to a fellow coach, I just thought that Crennel has just as good of a chance of getting it this year as Jauron, and be it that he is a BB alum, that he might get some love too.

It seems clear that a top kicker would bring them "to the next level"

I try never to disagree with BB but I gotta go with Romeo. Jauron has done a good job though and he is a local guy.

Jauron is a valid COTY as is RAC. ButI would nominate Marv Levy the octogenearian, as NFL Executive of the Year hands down. In two short years he has rebuilt the Bills, stocking them with great draft picks, and key veteran pickups via trade and Free Agency. It just goes to show that talent is talent, irrespective of whether its 30, 50, or 80 years old.

Field goals are meant to be made ... "Wide right" notwithstanding.

Interestingly, Jauron and Chicago management had a falling out, and BB is tight with Chicago management as well.

And Jauron beat out BB for Coach of the Year for the 2001 season IIRC.

Just a tidbit FYI: Belichick was an assistant on the Lions in the 70s when Jauron played there...

P.S It's not the quantity of threads that matter, but quality. Just to give you a heads up.

---Jauron didn't talk about the league's investigation into New England's video controversy other than to say, "We don't do it." He's also not concerned about New England coach Bill Belichick stealing Buffalo's defensive signals.

"It's not an unfair advantage for a coach on the sideline to look across the field and say, 'Geez, he scratched his head and they blitzed. Let's see if they blitz the next time he scratches his head,"' Jauron said. "Pretty soon you have something going." ---

    Yup, he's okay by me.

Yes, that happened but bear in mind (pun intended) that only the regular season gets considered for COTY (all votes are cast prior to the playoffs). So, given that criteria, it's pretty tough to say BB at 11-5 (improvement of 6 games from previous year) deserved it more than Jauron at 13-3 (8 game improvment).

I agree I just think that it's funny about the COTY award historically looking at it now(because most would think he won it that year instead of 2003).

I would agree at this point its between Romeo and Jauron, but I think Jauron has done more with less to this point. If the Bills can somehow make the wild card I would sy its jauron hands down
