My main disagreement here is to the poster who said we should take 3 offensive players with our first 5 picks. (Amaro, Robinson & Coleman)
Yes, we could use a weapon. I don't disagree with that. But I would wait until Round 2 to see if any big names have dropped ( maybe a Kelvin Benjamin or Jordan Matthews) or just wait until round 3-4 and get a guy who can create mismatches off of size and pose a threat- Coleman. We already have 3 TEs and 6 WRs on the roster. Can't draft three more receivers, would just create an overload
From all this 9 guys we have only one 1st round material in Gronk.
If we really go offense in this draft I expect some moves and the only safe bet to stay from last year's draftees is Dobson. If Caserio said the truth about going to this draft with a "win now" thinking (about time), I really think we are going to get another receiver early, and this is the right draft for that, and I'm get excited about this idea.
This philosophy of getting players who drop (for a reason), or trying to get a udfa steal, gambling in old veterans, it seems to not be working over the past, humm, 10 years. It worked a few times in Moss, Welker, Woodhead and others, but that is not going to work every time, and in this physical NFL it's gonna be even more difficult to find gold later in the draft. I'm not going to dig into numbers but the success rate should be questionable.
Playing in a weak division deludes people, this is all fine in the regular season, when it comes to playoffs you need studs, playmakers, that's what we are lacking, like they say here, swim, swim, and die on the beach. Always knocking on the door and falling short. When you have an offense filled with 6th and 7th rounders you can't expect much better.
We look other teams receivers and complain about not having one player of that caliber, but that's because we don't draft them , they are always there, every year, you just need to take the risk, but BB never takes this risk in a WR, let's see if this year he changes his mind.
