Ignore all media over this week, or at least for the next few days. The haters are going to be going off on how TB is now a choker and that they have not won a SB since spygate and blah blah blah. I can honestly say now that the season is over I will probably not turn my TV to ESPN until draft day. Ignore all the sports talk shows and blogs and newspapers ect because it is just going to be more of the same.

I once said, half-jokingly, that February 2008 was the most productive month I ever had.

I don't really watch ESPN or NFL Network anymore so this is no problem for me. I'm off work tomorrow so I'll miss the recaps from co-workers which is a huge bonus for me.

    Better advice:

Don't turn on ESPN at all, unless the Patriots are playing MNF.

I haven't watched ESPN since because of that - I couldn't deal with it. The footage they showed on NBC during the pregame from that game tonight was the first time I'd actually seen it since watching it live. And it still made my stomach turn.

I think I'm handling tonight a little better because this team wasn't as talented as that one was, and I didn't witness a perfect season get erased by one loss. Although it's still a missed opportunity, but at least since I'm already used to not watching any of it I won't need to change my routine

    I don't ever watch espn.

I'd suggest nfl network if you have to watch anything.

NBC was shameful tonight after the game in the way they showed Bob Kraft. What was the point of that? NBC is a scumbag network so I should not expect anything less.

NFL Network is a lot better than ESPN but I don't get NFL Network. What I do like is Sirius NFL Radio.

A big part of games, professional or amateur is THE COMPETITION. To COMPETE. Someone has to lose, and therein is one of lifes biggest lessons. Its how you DEAL with losing that defines you, not how many or how much you win! Its all caviar and roses when things are going well, you find out who you and your friends REALLY are when times are tough. In these economic times its not a bad thing to watch a team like the pats and how they deal with losing. To not watch is to forego a life lesson, and bury your head in the sand like an ostrich isnt the best way to deal trust me. Its all about moderation, not getting too high or too low and learning how to win. If you dont understand how you lose you wont be more prepared to win the next time! The bandwagon wasnt always this big, and it was built by teams and fans that didnt run at the first sign of danger, the first loss, or losing season. To be there for the team is to be a part of the community so if you celebrate the win at least understand the loss and congratulate the other team for doing what it takes to win. Understand your competition too, it makes the offseason a little shorter.

In local media, I expect Mike Reiss to be a little softer than others and focus on quotes rather than the blame game, while Greg Bedard will be a little harsher toward players who deserve it, but still extremely informative and very much worth reading.

to be honest, there is no one I really would rather argue with and compare notes with than the other members of THIS board...these media hacks have done enough this season to make me dismiss ANYTHING they have to offer....all they want is to promote themselves and have ZERO vested interest in the NE Patriots...and quite frankly, anyone can find out out anything these hacks dredge up, as a rule, faster and in more depth by just checking THESE threads every day

Minus a few certain posters, who seem to be out to outdo ESPN in Patriot bashing...

ahhh...I expected MORE vitriol to be honest...they have had to keep their blabby little sky is falling mouths shut since November...THIS is their chance to shine....maybe most of them have to pee and can't find the tweezers...so they're frantically looking for the all night pharmacy...

This forum is incredible, love the level headedness of most of the posters on
here, could you imagine being a fan of another team? I couldn't and i love every second of being a Pat and that's even when we've lost.

Tonight hurt real bad and i felt something i'm guessing was similar to what others were feeling for like half an hour and then i said you know what moping around does nothing plus there are fans of 30 other teams that couldn't experience what i did tonight and i don't need Stephen A Smith etc. to shove their one sided NY love down my throat because he doesn't get it.

Instead i look to the future and offer my views on how we can get better so that next time the feeling after the game will be the completely better

I just went to the gym and worked out to blow off some steam off this heart breaking lose, I was never a red sox fan, but now I understand how red sox fans felt before 2004, especially how they felt when 1986 happened, imo wes welker probably just took bill Bunker's place in boston sprots lore

Im no Sox fan but I do know better than to compare our 7 year drought to that of any pre-2004 Sox season. I sincerely doubt you can fathom what 86 years of losing can do to a fan base....

I think its mostly the level headed fans that are on here tonight. I think the yahoos are running and hiding under rocks again. This isnt the perfect season of 2007, THAT one is and always will be the most painful. Its not like we have to blow up the team with pending Free Agents or the team is moving. Times are good, we can survive this one easy.

Red Sox fans hadn't won in 86 years. Welker is not Buckner. There were a series of missed plays and mistakes that cost them this game. His was just one. Just like the last time we played this team in a Super Bowl.

I'd still rather go to 5 Super Bowls in 11 seasons and lose two than not win a championship in 86 years, or 43 like the JETS, or ever like the Bills or Eagles and a dozen other NFL teams who have never won one, including 4 who have never even played in one, but maybe that's just me...

The Pats have been to the SB 6 times since 1996, most in the NFL. In fact that is more trips to the SB than the whole NFC North has during the same time span. They have not had a losing record since 2000. They have won at least 10 games every year since 2003. It has been one hell of a run, and it is not over yet. TB and BB will come back next year and have another shot at it. Let's not forget that even with this loss and the tough ends to the season the last several years, this team is still far ahead of the Raiders, Dolphins, Bills, Jaguars, Panthers, Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks, Redskins, Browns, Bengals, Vikings, and so on.
