Smith was close to breaking the Big 12 all time sack record before a freak hip injury. The hip fracture didn't require surgery. There was some talk he would come back for the bowl game, but he never did. Then there was word he would appear in the East/West shrine game; no such luck. Then he missed the combine and the first Missou pro day.

Some good news: He is working out, getting his weight back up, and is trying to make it back for the 2nd Missou pro day, according to his agent.

Was 235 his playing weight? A bit light if that was the case.

Smith played with unusual strength for his size (6'4'' 235 lbs). He is very rangy and can add weight if he ever gets healthy. Wimbley played at 235, showed up at the senior bowl at 240, at the Combine at 248 and now plays at 250+. Smith was relentless. Can cover and rush.

6'4" should mean he has the frame to add the weight, the tricky part is projecting his ability to carry it with the speed and quickness you recall. Thanks for bringing him to our attention.

Can he play ST while we wait for Woicik to bulk him up?

With his medical history, he may be a good late round pick up.

We can draft Willis in the frist.
