- 3 or 4 RB's? and no FB / Develin?
- I find it hard to believe 3rd rounder Grissom doesn't make the 53...but then again...in BB I trust
- 3 or 4 T's? I would probably keep Flemming if were going with 4

Develin was definitely a pick of mine. I don't know why there are two commas without a name in the listing. Maybe I screwed up when copying.

The Offensive Line has so many guys who play multiple positions that other than Stork at center and Vollmer and Solder who are strictly tackles, the other guys are a real mix and match group.

As for Grissom, I left him off because I like Groy's name better. Like "they caught him holding Groy there, Jon," or "excellent use of Groy pulling on that one, Scott," or "Blount got in there behind Groy and had great penetration, Stephen A."

Updated roster:

A couple notes:

1) I could definitely see there being a tenth OL, but I'm torn on who it might be. Ultimately figured that it makes more sense to have an interior lineman on the PS, if it means being able to keep a lot of DL depth in the form of guys like Moore and Johnson.
2) I refuse to consider Slater a WR for roster projection purposes, so I put him in ST. I could easily see either Gibson or Dobson as WR5.
3) RB is a logjam. I would like to see one of Lewis or Gaffney make the roster, and wouldn't be shocked if the Pats decide to go 6 deep at RB to accommodate one of them. Or maybe they go one lighter on OL, DL, or safety. This has been where in the past I bumped Bolden, but the contract that he signed this past year shows how much the Pats value his ST contributions, so I think he sticks. In any case, I would bet that one of Lewis/Gaffney is on the roster week 1 anyway, in the spot that Blount will have temporarily vacated due to suspension.
4) I went light at LB, based on the Pats' willingness to do that last year. Also went strong at SS, thinking that the Pats could use Ebner (and maybe Wilson) him as a pseudo-LB much like they did last year when he was healthy.

Still up on Boyce, eh? What do you know that we don't know? (I hope you're right - one of my binkies.)

You've got (4) at both Tackle and Guard, but only three listed, by the way.

I agree on LB - that picker shows how remarkably thin we are there. Come on, BB, give Spikes a chance!

I really want Gray, Gaffney & Lewis to make it, but I fear that slow lil' Jimmy White & non-runner Cadet
will instead make it ahead of all 3 of them.
Develin was a tough cut, but maybe Bolden should be coached-up for more FB duties.
With the health status of Minitron & LaFell in question, I feel that 6 legit WRs are a necessity, not a luxury.
Mundine is my surprise UDFA to make the cut. He brings much-needed speed to the TE/FB position.
Of course, had Bill not foolishly waived Tim Mister Wright…
The 9 on the OL is a no-brainer, because the rest of them are useless trash.
Dom Easily(injured) to PUP, Alan Branch out-hustled by Antonio Johnson.
Dane Fletcher to PUP, Morris wins the backup ILB job.
I'm rooting for Swanson & Roberts to out-perform the awful Fletcher & McClain.
I listed Matt Wells as a SS to provide much-needed range at the position.
And the Ebner & Tavon Feckin Wilson experiments are over.
Time for an update:
QB (2) T.Brady, J.Garoppolo
RB (5) L.Blount, B.Bolden, J.White, J.Gray, D.Lewis
WR (6) J.Edelman, B.LaFell, D.Amendola, B.Gibson, A.Dobson, J.Boyce
TE (3) R.Gronkowski, S.Chandler, J.Mundine
C (2) B.Stork, S.Mason
G (4) T.Jackson, R.Wendell, J.Kline, R.Groy
T (3) N.Solder, S.Vollmer, C.Fleming
DE (5) R.Ninkovich, C.Jones, J.Sheard, T.Flowers, G.Grissom
DT (4) M.Brown, Chr.Jones, S.Siliga, A.Johnson
ILB(2) D.Hightower, J.Morris
OLB(3) J.Mayo, J.Collins, D.Watson
CB (5) T.Brown, M.Butler, L.Ryan, D.Swanson, D.Roberts
SS (3) P.Chung, J.Richards, N.Ebner
FS (2) D.McCourty, D.Harmon
ST (4) S.Gostkowski, R.Allen, J.Cardona, Slater

Gaffney (IR) out and small, slow Jimmy White in, unfortunately.
I'm still calling Jimmay Mundine as the obligatory UDFA who makes the 53 out of camp;
Develin's a very tough cut, but we need more athleticism from the TE/FB position.
Ryan Groy replaces the over-paid, under-performing Cannonfodder and saves us money.
I'm also still calling Antonio Johnson to out-work the sluggish Alan Branch.
Dakota Watson makes the 53 easier than James Morris, who's in a dogfight for the 5th LB.
I'm still hoping that Dax Swanson out-performs the awful Brad Fletcher.
And finally for the love of Ganja please end the Tavon Feckin Wilson Error.

Assuming Brady not suspended for opener.
Only five LB, but plenty of candidates for PS or shadow roster.
Cutting Logan Ryan for Roberts, in blatant overreaction to one preseason game where Roberts started and Ryan looked awful.

What has Andrews done to warrent his making the 53 ahead of Kline or Groy?
He sucked just as badly last night as the other 2.

With respect, I don't think that fans can tell a lot. There has been a bit of analysis, and folks think tha Andrews did very well. I did forget Groy, and now added him to the bubble.

My guess is that Andrews is now ahead of Groy and Kline. This is the 9th OL, developmental position, a position that should always be inactive. And even when inactive, the #9 OL usually doesn't play. I don't have strong opinions on the position.

I have no problems with your roster.

I do question what you think Martin has done to earn a roster spot over Morris, Fletcher, Fleming, Watson and Johnson.

This is really difficult.. but I guess that's a good thing. Our rookie class made such a strong showing last night, it's hard to not keep every last one for the most part

Edit: I also think that theres probably at least one player, at who knows what position, thats not on the roster yet.

Edit2: What was the most difficult position for everyone? I had trouble with 9th OL (no standout) and along the DL. I wanted to keep more than I could because I went with 6 LBs for no legitimate reason outside of ST purposes. 0 added base defense value with my extra LB. Corner is also rough picking.

Edit3: I hope that Rufus Johnson's big game last night against scrubs earns him a chance to try it against starters. Man, our pass rush looked good at times, a lot of the time, especially our starters against Rodgers and a pretty decent pass blocking OL.

Another fine roster. The agreement is getting scary.

OFFFENSE
I agree that the #0 OL spot is up for grabs, and that Andrews seem to be on top as of now.

DEFENSE
1) Grissom will make this roster. Belichick has never dumped a 3rd round draft pick. He'd keep on the 53 as a developmental player, even if he never is active. There is room for 1-2 of these players on the 53. I call Grissom a DE, so I would have him there instead of your "R Johnson", who BTW is a LB.
2) If you are going to have only four DT's (as many have), then the choice is between Antonio Johnson and Branch. If you want to keep both players, you need to lose a LB.
3) You have one more LB than most of us. However, 6 is a VERY reasonable number, given Belichikc's history. Your analysis is correct. The choice is usually because of special teams play. I would note that Fletcher is also reasonable as a position linebacker, especially in passing situations.

BOTTOM LINE
I could accept you entire roster, with the one exception that Grissom should be included and someone taken out.

Grissom was a very very hard drop, and his draft position will certainly save him, if I HAD to keep him, he takes Freeney's spot, as you stated, R.Johnson is listed as a LB but I do believe he played DE exclusively last night if I'm not mistaken, though I very well could be. He has nearly identical size to Zach Moore as a rookie, far too large to play LB here.
