2012 New England Patriots Pre Draft Contact List

Just checked the Bearcats website and other outlets - they didn't have anyone by the name of Anderson on their books last year?

Checked with the twitter author @joshnorris. He actually meant the TE Adrien Robinson.

What does anyone make at the lack of action in not arranging visits or private workouts with potential first and second rounders this year to date. So far, only three potential top -64 prospects have arranged/had visit with the Patriots or had a private workout:

Doug Martin
Ronnell Lewis
Michael Brockers.

This time last year, the following had done the same:

Andy Dalton
Colin Kaepernick
Ryan Williams
Randall Cobb
Torrey Smith
Tyron Smith
Nate Solder
Marvin Austin
Allen Bailey
Cam Jordan
Muhammad Wilkerson
Adrian Clayborn
Brooks Reed
Aldon Smith
Prince Amukamara

As you can see, the Pats were much more active in seeking significant contact by this time last year than they are this with some of the top prospects. Is this because of the lockout (much more to do this year than last) or do people think the Pats have zeroed in on a prospect (which likely means a trade up) or can too much be read into this?

The lack of free agency before the draft is probably the main reason. And the fact that the Patriots had extended their season to the last game possible shortening the off-season. But it makes sense for visits and workouts to be conducted after pro days.

Also, with the Patriots, you never can be sure exactly how many prospects they have visited or worked out with the wall of secrecy they have.

This. Most (90%) of the prospects I talk with refuse to answer whether they have visited or worked out with the Patriots... although the smile on their face sometimes says something different.

Agents are a little more open, but much more with other teams.

We can now add the 4th top prospect -- Melvin Ingram will be visiting:

South Carolina LB Ingram to meet with Patriots

On Sirius XM NFL Radio, South Carolina's Melvin Ingram revealed that he has met with the Jets and is heading to New England to meet with the Patriots some time before the draft.

One of my favorite Pats prospects, major tradeup probably required.

Charlie Casserly said on NFL Network Path to the Draft tonight in a segment called Draft Buzz that Josh Norman CB Coastal Carolina was on his way to a pre draft interview with the Patriots in Foxboro after running a 4.55 40 (better than his 4.68 at the combine).

Broyles recorded a 32.5-inch vertical jump and 4.57 time in the 40-yard dash during the short session inside the Sooners' Everest Indoor Center. He also ran routes for the NFL scouts in attendance. Representatives from the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans were on hand.

Chris Steuber actually says in that article that we were one of the seven teams that did not attend.

Thanks. My mistake. Wishful thinking that the Patriots were there to look at Kendall Wright.
