OLB Ryan Davis, Bethune Cookman I

Scout.com: Ryan Davis Q&A

There's a piece here (and video) on this little known player that the Pats have shown an interest in. Money quote:

Davis became one of the best pass rushers in Bethune Cookman's history dominating the edge and showing his athleticism on plays. If Ryan was from a school like Florida State or Florida, Ryan would probably be going in the first round of this years draft, because of his never quit attitude. Ryan participated in the Battle of Florida where he racked in a sack going up against better talent. Ryan also had a sack against Brandon Washington of Miami this year, on a very pretty move. Although Ryan might be playing for Bethune Cookman he is ready to make an impact for an NFL team. He understands what he has to do to get to the next level and he is working extremely hard on it.

The writer compares him to Ryan Kerrigan. Middle round OLB seems to be the direction the Pats are looking at at that position.

Haven't seen this yet. from NFL Draft Bible, Patriots were in attendance at S Carolina state pro day. Home of FS Christian Thompson.

I like.

Another late rounder or UDFA type. I think the only two potential first or second rounders that we know we've met with or are going to are Brockers and Ronnell Lewis. By this time last year, the visit sheet was much more heavily populated with higher round guys.

He's also visited:

Armstead has already visited with the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins, among other teams. Scouts from those teams and the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, San Diego Chargers, and more were present at Hornet Stadium on Wednesday.

This will please Patsdoerer

Just checked the Bearcats website and other outlets - they didn't have anyone by the name of Anderson on their books last year?

It's time to get the ball rolling again folks, and we're a little bit late as well. Here's a link to last year's thread and final list:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...draft-contacts-2011-a-page35.html#post2523918

Remember, what we're trying to do is list the player's the Pats have had contact with in the build up to the Draft, and gain a wider picture of the positions etc.

Something that's been up for discussion is the "legend" as I like to call it, if you have any suggestions, feel free to put your ideas forward. Here's the legend as it stands now:

V - Official Pre-Draft visit; visited team facilities/hosted by team in area
PW - Private workout held with prospect
AW - Attended open workout on Campus
C - Position Coach or Coordinator contact
MC - Team has spoken to player or agent or had on-Campus visit; miscellaneous contact
APD - Team official has attended Pro-Day
I - Interviewed at Combine/All-Star game
RI - Rumoured interest

NB: All players in larger font, and Bold, Italic and Underline, have met the "Three Contact Rule". To meet the TCR, a prospect must have three confirmed contacts (RI does not count). The TCR implies that the Patriots are very very interested in them, and there's a very good chance we'll draft them. Don't take it for granted though.

Big thanks to the guys over at NE Pats Draft.com by the way, the work they do is unbelievable. Check them out.

Two more private workouts:

Scout.com: Josh Bellamy Profile

Louisville wide receiver-cornerback Josh Bellamy has a private workout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a visit with the Seattle Seahawks, according to a league source.

He has worked out for the New England Patriots.
Scout.com: Jordan Bernstine Profile

Iowa safety and return specialist Jordan Bernstine has conducted private workouts for the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots, according to a league source.

Just a note or two to add for Ronnie Cameron: there were 12 teams at his Pro-Day, and our representative was actually Jon Robinson - the Director of College Scouting.

Very interesting that such a senior figure attended, however I am aware that this class is the first to graduate for the Monarchs since the football program was restarted so that may have been the biggest reason.

Cameron originally attended Hofstra by the way, and transferred when they shut down the football program.

Patriots were at Yale's Pro Day. Patrick Witt was mentioned earlier in the thread. Some more names mentioned in the following link:
The New Haven Register Blogs: Portal 31: Eight former Bulldogs work out for NFL scouts

including this nugget:
Witt has been down this road before as he took part in the NFL combine last month. New England and San Diego sent representatives specifically to check out Witt (although New England did show quite a bit of interest in Sacred Heart University tight end Rich Rossi).
