Who hasn't scored on offense? Eckel? I think he has 1 TD. It will have to be someone on D, unless Troy Brown comes back or Chad Jackson scores.

The only Offensive players who hve not scored are Troy Brown, Chad Jackson, Kellwy Wasington, TE Sprach and occasional TE Wesley Britt an OT, and occasional TE O'Callaghan an OT. Junior Seau has played goaline FB and he could get a carry to score from in close too. Ihtought Britt or O'Callaghan caught a TD as a Te in anohter year. (Am I wrong?)

On Defense the only secondary players not to have scored are Bruschi and Seau at LB and Harrison, Sanders and Meriwether at DB, any of which could get an INT and TD return for a score. Any of the DLs could get a strip sack and fumble return for a TD, or a Safety. Kelly Washington's punt block, had he recovered it cleanly, might have been returned for a TD.

Here's what I'll be looking for in the Giants finale:

16 and 0 (duh)
2 Brady touchdowns to break Manning's record
2 Moss touchdowns to break Rice's record
1 (Troy?) touchdown to make 22 different players and break record

Co-sign this, in this exact order of priority.

The absolutely ideal situation would be Brady hooking up with Moss twice early in the first half to take away all stress (Well, at least for me. I really want these records) I'll have regarding both the game and records.

Then I can start looking towards a shot for Troy to be #22. Also concering #22, the top 5 guys I'd like to see get it in order..

1) Troy Brown
2) Tedy Bruschi
3) Rodney Harrison
4) Kelley Washington
5) Brandon Meriweather

All records from yesterday have been added.

That was a lot of fun.

I heard somewhere that we broke the record for the most records broken in a season :O

Week 17 (12/29): Patriots 38, Giants 35 (away):

NFL Record: 593 points on season most ever (1998 Vikings 556)

This is actually wrong. We only scored 589.

ONLY. :D :D :D :D

Just incase you wanted to add the NFL Fed-Ex Air And Ground player of the week awards, we got the following...

Fed-Ex Air And Ground Player of the Week
Week 6 (Brady)
Week 7 (Brady)
Week 11 (Brady)

And as a new thread has now alerted me, he is in the running this week.

http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType=players-air-and-ground

I'm not sure about that though... can anyone confirm or refute this?

ATTENTION PEOPLE: As a result of recent events, there are going to be a few changes around this here National Football League. You all brought this on yourselves.

Effective immediately, the New England Patriots will no longer be known as the New England Patriots, but the New England Awesomes. Along those same lines, Robert and Jonathan Kraft will now be known as Robert Awesome and Jonathan Awesome.

Tom Brady will be known now as Hunky McFabulous, and he'll be throwing footballs this season to Randy Mawesome.

Tedy Bruschi's name will still be Tedy Bruschi - but so will yours.

Touchdowns will still be known as touchdowns, except when scored by the New England Awesomes, in which case they will be referred to as: "Of Courses." Fieldgoals will be worth seven points for the New England Awesomes, since they would have probably scored an Of Course if they really felt like it.

National Football League schedulers will be be revising the schedule to reflect that the New England Awesomes will play who they want, when they want, and where they want, and they will be on National television at all times. They will preempt whatever non-New England Awesome show is wasting everyone's time in that slot. Games won't just be limited to other NFL teams. Don't be surprised if your doorbell rings and you find the New England Awesomes out on your front porch ready to play, and CBS is trying to figure out how to hang a camera from your neighbor's cupola. Nor should you be surprised if, during the bye-week, the New England Awesomes conquer Liechtenstein just for fun.

In honor of this new arrangement, GIllette will announce a new razor - their third new one this week - and, thankfully, their last new razor ever. The new Gillette Awesome will look suspiciously like a plain ol' wooden stick, but when you hold it up to your face, the hair is mysteriously scared right down the sink. Don't even think about shaving your junk with this.

And remember, people, you asked for all this.

two minor points on the records:

1) In week 12, most consecutive afc east titles, you name the previous holder as the dolphins-4 81-85 (not counting '82 strike year when no divisions).
But you failed to name the two other teams who were co-holders of the previous record Bills-4 88-91, and Dolphins-4 71-74.

2)You name Gostkowski as breaking the nfl record for extra points - when he did it, and who was the previous holder, but you failed to do the same for the FRANCHISE record for same, when, and beating who.

These are minor points, yes, but it's just interesting to see some of these exact details.

Would you happen to know who the previous record holder is for #2?

You want info? - I got info !

He caught and passed the previous record holder in the week 11 romp over Buffalo, when he went, get this, 8-for-8 on the day with PAT's, giving him 54 for the season. The previous record was 51, set in 1980 by John Smith.

Here are the top ten 'Extra Points Made' in a season by a Patriots Kicker:

74 - Stephen Gostkowski - 2007****
51 - John Smith - 1980
48 - Gino Cappelletti - 1961
48 - Adam Vinatieri - 2004
46 - John Smith - 1979
44 - Tony Franklin - 1986
43 - Stephen Gostkowski - 2006****
42 - John Smith - 1974
42 - John Smith - 1976
42 - Tony Franklin - 1984

Here are Gostkowski's week-by-week totals this year:
wk01 - 5/5 - (5)
wk02 - 5/5 - (10)
wk03 - 5/5 - (15)
wk04 - 4/4 - (19)
wk05 - 4/4 - (23)
wk06 - 6/6 - (29)
wk07 - 7/7 - (36)
wk08 - 7/7 - (43)
wk09 - 3/3 - (46)
wk10 - BYE
wk11 - 8/8 - (54)

wk14 - 4/4 - (65)
wk15 - 2/2 - (67)
wk16 - 4/4 - (71)

Ya missed Gostkowski's franchise record for PAT's.

Actually, it is under League records, as far as a franchise record its sort of a gimme.

still, a franchise record and an nfl record are two completely separate entities and are broken at different points in a season.

I think one of the points of this thread was to single out every single accomplishment and to chronicle it, so that we could stand back in awe of it's vastness.

you simply wouldn't even imagine a team having a season like the one the pats are having. it has been truly remarkable!

any time you see an nfl record broken, but no corresponding franchise record just imagine it in.

the point is knowing what the previous record was and how much you beat it by.

we know moss beat rice by one.
but it's interesting to also note what former pat's record he beat and by how much.

I don’t understand how the Pats/Indy, Pats/Giants games aren’t the highest rated NFL regular season broadcasts of all-time.

It astonishes me that the Pats/Indy game is only the highest rated in 20 years, when 20 years ago the game, the hype and the publicity weren’t nearly as huge as it is today and not to mention a smaller population.

according to http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/richard_deitsch/12/17/media.awards/2.html

PATRIOTS-COLTS, CBS: It was dubbed Super Bowl 41½ and it attracted an audience worthy of, well, American Idol. CBS drew a 20.1 rating and 33.8 million viewers for the Patriots-Colts game on Nov. 4, the highest-rated regular-season Sunday-afternoon NFL telecast on any network since Fox drew a 22.2 for a Cowboys-49ers game in '96. The game was the highest-rated program since the Academy Awards. If only those viewers would tune into Katie Couric.

But that would make it the highest regular season Sunday afternoon game in 10 years not 20.
