Sey93,

As a cowboy supporter, let me say you did a fine job on their draft. Each pick was perfect.

Didn't Marcus Thomas also punch a teammate last year? If so, that is an added bonus - perhaps they could put his locker next to TO's.

Hadn't heard about that.

Thanks for the complement. I 'll let you have the Cowboys next year since you're a fan of them.

Stuckey is a slight gamble, but could develop into a decent receiver. The Colts need a little more depth at this position and Stuckey has lots of upside.

That kid was a terror against BC. He should be a very good K/P returner at least.

OK, I'm done. Big needs for the Falcons were DE, OT, FS, DT, CB, OG, MLB, and developmental projects @ WR, RB, SS. Drafted were:

8) Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville- one of the highest ceilings in the draft.
39) Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue- Disrupter from the corner. To good for me to pass on.
44) Arron Sears, OL, Tenn- One of the top 6 talents @ OL in the draft. Should start from day one. Had Meriweather @ this choice, but I thought the talent dropoff was greater on the OLine vs. Safety. Might be one regreted down the road.
75) Josh Gattis, FS, Wake Forest- had this one penciled in as soon as I made pick 44. Prayed that he would reach me. I must have been good in a previous life...
109) Kenny Scott, CB, Georgia Tech- I was torn between Bennett, Scott, Davis & Mike Walker @ this pick. I thought that Scott would be the best fit for this D. I have no love for Jimmy Williams, so IMM, he'll be @ least a nickle back, potentially a starter in the long term.
121) Mike Walker, WR, Central Florida- I have big love for this guy- wanted to take him @ 109. One to watch IMO.
133) Deshawn Wynn, RB, Florida- A talent w/ great speed/ size. Let's see if Petrino can light a fire, if so...

Shows you how busy I was at work these past few weeks, I didn't even realize I had the last comp pick coming until sebman emailed me. I was thinking of Wynn @ 121 anyway so it was an easy choice. Thanks guys. Big thanks to sebman for moderating what could have been a real mess, and turning it into big fun.

Falcons depth chart:http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/...Id=16&team=atl

Needs for the 49ers going in were ILB, DE, WR, OT, C, S, and backup QB.

I had 8 picks to take care of these needs. With my first two picks I ended up with Willis and Gonzalez, which was whom I was targeting. I was hoping to get either Alama-Francis, Gattis, or Antonio Johnson with my third pick. I ended up with Johnson, then followed up with DeOssie and Wendling. I got a LT prospect in Barbre. I was hoping for John Beck next, but he was gone shortly before my pick. I'll have to address backup QB in free agency. Instead I went back to DB with Harrison and finished up with Darius Walker as a depth RB. Thus:

1. PATRICK WILLIS LB MISSISSIPPI
2. ANTHONY GONZALEZ WR OHIO STATE
3. ANTONIO JOHNSON DE MISSISSIPPI STATE
3. ZAK DEOSSIE LB BROWN
4. JOHN WENDLING S WYOMING
4. ALLEN BARBRE T SOUTHERN MISSOURI STATE
4. BRANDON HARRISON S STANFORD
4. DARIUS WALKER RB NOTRE DAME

I love this draft. Thanks to everybody who participated, and especially Sebman.

Baltimore Ravens draft review

1- Justin Blalock OG/OT

A good value pîck. He can play either at guard or at tackle.

2- Charles Johnson, DE.

He will provide depth at DE position and will replace Trevor Pryce who gets older. Could be tried at 3-4 OLB position.

4- Paul Williams, WR

A value pick who provide depth to the WR corps

4- Troy Smith, QB

A controversed QB but who has a lot of talent and could be groomed as McNair successor or eventual Boller backup (if he finally blossoms)

Thanks to Sebman for the great work!

Breaking down my picks:

Michael Griffin S Texas (Safety is among the Chargers key needs, and I couldn't pass on Griffin at 30th overall. His ability to play the run, tackle, hit, and his good range in pass coverage are all things the Chargers need. He's also a good character guy, and with the Chargers recent arrest history I thought they would try and play it safe in this draft.)

Aundrae Allison WR East Carolina (The Chargers already have their big jump ball WR in Vincent Jackson, so they need a WR with good hands, speed, elusiveness, and route running ability. Aundrae Allison is that WR, and I got him at the end of the second round.)

Brian Robison LB Texas (They need depth at ILB & OLB, and at this point in the draft I thought Robison fit what they look for better than any other LB. If you take a look at their recent draft picks most of those players tested as the most explosive & powerful at their position. When tested Robison had the best combination of power/explosion among all players at his position. On defense I think they could use him at either ILB or OLB. He's also an instant upgrade on special teams, where he is a good coverage man, and is very good at blocking field goals.)

Brandon Frye OT Virginia Tech (I knew he fit the type of O-Linemen they look for and seemed to be the best available OT who fit their requirments. I was wondering if I should wait and try to get him in the fourth, but I decided against waiting since I thought he was among their top choices at OT. I'm glad I didn't wait because I would have lost him. I did some research, and a lot of Charger fans like Frye.)

Kolby Smith RB Louisville (They need another RB with Turner hitting the FA market next year. Of the remaining RB's Kolby Smith seemed to be the best fit, and he represented the best value. I looked at CB's with this pick as well, but I didn't see any with more value than Kolby.)

Just a quick note to say thanks to Box. He did a sterling job looking after my draft board when I needed to sleep.
Xzavier Jackson and Courtney Brown were very much his picks, with my agreement, so perhaps he should explain them. The consensus was that the Colts' D needs improvement. Given the Cover 2, they need guys who are fast, have good motors, are disciplined and able to play the run.
According to Box, Brown could potentially play FS. He has great ball hawking skills, is aggressive, very fast (4.32 in the 40) and has a great work ethic.
Jackson brings versatility (he can play DT or DE), mobility and a good motor to the table.

The rationale for my picks is this: I thought about DT in round 1, but I wasn't sold on DeMarcus Tyler (Harrell was off the board), whose work ethic is questionable.
Beason has the speed, aggression, intelligence and has great character.
I really wanted a second RB to share the load with Addai. Hunt was off the board, so I went with someone (Booker) who could "make people miss" (which is pretty priceless, IMHO) and could Manning an extra option, like Kevin Faulk does for us.
WR was another area lacking depth. Below the starters, their roster looks very thin. Stuckey has loads of upside and is a "potential" pick.

I like Courtney Brown a LOT. He's become my favorite among the mid-round CBs. Plus Beason is a great fit, Booker good fit & value. Nice draft!

Thanks, Bakes!

Some drafts I particularly like:

49ers (granted they had a lot of picks to work with, but they made the most of them. wow.)

Cowboys (tons of potential in that group)

Chargers (well done, great fits for that team)

Colts (ditto, those players look like Colts -- and good ones)

Rams (just what the doctor ordered for them)

Browns (nice talent, yet one suspects it will all be for naught. poor Romeo.)

If any one would like to grade the Texans for me i would be grateful.

If any one would like to grade the Texans for me i would be grateful.

Leon Hall - Decent value pick, fulfills a need for a second CB, though Dunta Robinson is a stud on the other corner and I'm not a particularly big fan of Hall (he got burned by Dwayne Jarrett in the Rose Bowl - Big-10 players are often overrated). Levi Brown would've been a good pickup (Big-10 OL being the exception), but he was gobbled up right before this pick. I would've taken Patrick Willis here, but it really was not a bad pick at all. Texans are in a tough spot, the talent can drop off pretty quick.

Doug Free - Free is kind of a boom or bust guy, and not really what the Texans need (they need a stalwart offensive lineman of any stripe, though a tackle's a good place to start). He has the chance to be a very good, athletic left tackle or a career backup, because while he tested very well and is huge, his play wasn't always there even against smaller schools.

J.L. Higgins - May have been taken a little too high, but he's fast and should become a pretty good slot receiver. Can help take some pressure off Andre Johnson.

Overall: C+

The Texans didn't have much to work with, and Hall should be a good player. But Free is a risk that their line can't really take right now, and Higgins is just another guy.

Interesting that 2/3 of those teams are a base 3-4.

What about the Ravens? ;)

Interesting that 2/3 of those teams are a base 3-4.

True enough! A pure coincidence, I think, since (except for the 49ers) few of their picks in this mock were front-seven defenders.

The Jaguars would love to know what people think as well.
R1 J. Anderson
R2 E. Weddle
R3 Q. Black
R4 J. Beck

DE, S, LB, QB

If any one would like to grade the Texans for me i would be grateful.

Tough with 3 picks and tough being the Texans but not bad. Gotta love Hall and devotion to the OL.

I'd say B- all things concidered.
