Similar topic as the other thread about the best player in the league. Kontradiction brought this up and I think it is a good idea.

My vote is for Wilfork. But I think good arguments can made be made for a few others.

Seau. Not based on what he did all year, just based on the fact that if it wasn't for one big hit delivered by him, we probably wouldn't even have been in the Super Bowl. Wilfork comes in at a close second with Samuel coming in third and Warren taking a respectful forth.
 
Right now, it's Vince Wilfork pretty easily for me. Seymour could make this poll very interesting later on in the year with a bounce back year.
 
This really isn't much of a debate.
 
I definitely should not have left Vrabel out of this poll. Not sure how I failed to leave him in. I'd still vote for Wilfork, but Vrabel would probably be #2 in my opinion.
 
I'm going Ty Warren, he looked more like Richard Seymour last year than Richard Seymour did. He was able to consistently handle double teams and was an all around force on the line.

Vrabel and Wilfork are the other 2 that come to mind. Seau had a good year, but not as good as those guys.
 
Can't see a vote for anyone but wilfork at this point.

Ty Warren, just watch him consistently and you'll see.
 
Where the hell are Vrabel and Thomas? I voted for "other" in protest. If you're going to do a poll about the best defensive player on the Pats, it makes sense NOT to omit a Pro Bowl start from last season.

why is Vrabel 1a? He did absolutely nothing end of season. Wilfork is the clear cut #1 guy

I'll preface this by saying that I'm a huge Wilfork fan and actually wanted the Pats to draft the guy in the Ty Warren draft. He ended up staying at Miami.

With that out of the way, this past season, the best defensive player on the Pats hands down was Vrabel.

its Wilfork, hands down for me

the guy makes it extremely difficult for teams to run down the middle on us, and he demands at least a double team pretty much every down he's out there. Without such a dominant nose tackle I highly doubt our D would have been in the top 10 last year.
 
Seau and Hobbs really shouldn't even be on the list.

Seau made a lot of big plays this year, the biggest being in the AFCCG but best defensive player on the entire team? No..

And Hobbs? Dear lord.
