Court denies Brady a re-hearing!!!

They did just fine with Matt Cassel and unlike the 2008 team I think this team may have something really special on defense.

I think they can survive a 1/4 season of Jimmy plus they'll have a much better idea what they have or don't have in him than a few mop-up appearances can tell them.

Olson was brought on for the eventual Supreme Court appeal. They gave en banc a shot because they had nothing to lose, but I think they were focused on the USSC once he arrived.

And as much of a long shot as a USSC appeal is, if you go strictly by numbers, it is actually a better chance than en banc ever was.

Exhaust all avenues and appeal to the SCOTUS.

Brady is not a quitter.

Why in the world would you want the Patriots to essentially throw in the towel on the entire season, one of the few that Brady has remaining??!?!?

Seriously, some people in here need to put their brains in gear, as evidenced above.

So you rather he take the suspension and basically be admitting he's guilty. Goodell wouldn't take all our picks. If he really is for the league he wouldn't let the season be tanked

Although it would be considerably more difficult, the Pats could still win the AFCE or get a wild card birth, so it's not quite throwing in the towel. Given their track record, the Pat's would most likely be 9-7 at the end of the season. The Pats could end up at 0-4 under Jimmy G anyway.

Although this would be pretty extreme, besides a superbowl win, it's really the only way the Pats can fight back. The NFL won't change until their behavior starts affecting their bottom line.

You are free to disagree, and that is a certainly a rational perspective. That said, I find your perspective on my cognitive acuity amusing.
It's a moronic suggestion, and if you think the only consequences of forfeiting 4 games would simply be an 0-4 record, then your cognitive acuity is non-existent.

Here we go again with the forfeit talk.

If they are stupid enough to try a stunt like that maybe you want to see Goodell take away our entire draft until the next decade and ban Belichick permanently from the league.

It's absurd and not gonna happen.
I know Kraft won't do it, but there is already a process in place. If a team refuses to play, the penalty is a loss recorded as 2-0.

NFL Rules Digest: Emergencies and Unfair Acts

"Forfeit . The Commissioner, (except in cases of disciplinary action; see last section on "Removing Team from Field"), League President, and their representatives, including referees, are not authorized unilaterally to declare forfeits. A forfeit occurs only when a game is not played because of the failure or refusal of one team to participate. In that event, the other team, if ready and willing to play, is the winner by a score of 2-0."

So you rather he take the suspension and basically be admitting he's guilty.
WTF are you talking about? I want him to bring this to the USSC and then when all that's done, file a defamation lawsuit.

Forfeiting the 1st 4 games of the season would be throwing the towel in on the entire season. It is a moronic suggestion on too many levels to count.

Did you even look at the rules about it before forming an opinion? I did. So much for your measures of cognitive acuity.

Not only that, I would think the other owners would actually take away the entire franchise. I am sure the league contract would be breached by such action.

As has already been pointed out, there are rules and a penalty in place for teams refusing to play.

Yes, I know what the rules are, and your suggestion remains a moronic one on too many levels to count.

If you think the only consequence of forfeiting 4 games is an 0-4 record, then your cognitive acuity is completely non existent.

I think that all that attend the first home game should stand with their backs to the field never watching a single play.

Non ticket holders should go to the stadium and encircle it, holding hands while singing "the Rose" as sung by Bette Midler.

Not sure why people think he is missing the first 4 games.

Has 90 days to file with the Supreme Court, which he likely will be granted a stay and they probably wont rule to accept or reject it until 2017

it would surprise me......considering the judges weren't supposed to give a **** about the whole PSI end of it

which made them commenting about it seem off right?

The legal liability would be absolutely incalculable.

1) Kraft would have to reimburse all ticket holders for the 4 games not played
2) I can't imagine NBC would be terribly happy paying millions of dollars for a game which got cancelled. They'll want that money back too.
3) Needless to say, you still have to pay your players and coaches.
4) Even though they are still getting paid, the players themselves wouldn't go along with it. You think a player who is going to be a free agent after 2016 would be happy just missing 4 games in 2016?

Like I said, the suggestion is completely moronic on many, many levels.

As has already been pointed out, there are rules and a penalty in place for teams refusing to play.

Sure, that would be the initial mechanism for dealing with a forfeiture. Can you grant that the league schedule, thus standings, and playoff games (sources of additional income to owners) are intricately dependent on there being an acceptable level of competition that is undermined by serial forfeiture of games?

If so, then it would be reasonable for the league (the collection of owners) to declare said team a rogue bad actor who systematically undermines the competitive structure of the season. I have to imagine that there is something in the ownership contract that states doing damage to the league in such a manner is grounds for having the franchise revoked.

I think those who go to the games should only pay for their beers and snacks with pennies.

Playing without Brady will be a challenge BB will relish and it will invigorate him as he molds another young QB... I predict 3-1 if JG is under center...

The NFL would get a big amount of flak if the Pats forfeit. You don't think Goodell would cave. The other teams are tired of this Bs and want it done too. I believe they honestly would force Goodell to drop it or face ouster
