Court denies Brady a re-hearing!!!

OK I challenge you to prove that.
Of course it's speculation, but if you believe either Kraft or Goodell do anything without being certain it will result in increased revenues for the league, they've got some integrity to sell you.

From a revenue -to-the-NFL/Patriots standpoint, there is zero difference you being a Neilson household and posting on Patsfans.com. Either directly or indirectly through channels, the NFL sees the money. If you want to pick and choose what mediums make you feel better go for it.
That's BS. The league doesn't get anything except increased exposure when the outlets it advertises on have traffic. Since I'm already over-exposed, that has no affect on me. If my traffic causes the league to write Ian a bigger check, again, that is money coming out, not going in. At no point does "traffic at places the league advertises" work for them to get more money.

The same brain-dead clowns who wanted Cassell starting in 2009.

Brady wasn't 40 then. If, and only if, Garoppolo looks like the real deal, an honest discussion should be had.

To everyone in the country who thinks Brady should end this and not waste SC time: you need an education on what constitutes a test case for the Supreme Court. Test case law is very complicated and test cases are often times VERY mundane, but decide huge issues in law. By the time SC takes it, the plaintiff doesn't even matter. Hell, Brady's guilt didn't even matter in appeals court.

Anyways, the issue is now about labor arbitration, with interested parties including AFL-CIO, other labor unions, public labor unions, etc. this is a big issue and the SC may very well be interested.

For a great podcast with a great example of test case, check out this radio lab episode.

Radiolab Presents: More Perfect - The Imperfect Plaintiffs

Basically, one of the biggest decisions regarding gay rights (striking down anti-sodomy laws) included plaintiffs who were not even having sex at the time of arrest, and were only fined $125 as a penalty. But it wasn't about them...

You are introducing speculation and not facts. I'm not going to address it.

No it isn't. You said you would not watch Patriots games b/c you think Kraft is part of this. Ian has an advertising deal with the Patriots and Pro Shop on this site. They pay him money. He is a business partner of the Patriots. What they pay him is partially based on our contribution and membership as we are a target market for them. If this site had 8 people posting they wouldn't give him a dime. Its the same as watching a game and then seeing a Viagra commercial.

If you want to be righteous about it, go all the way. Avoid anything NFL-related which this site is.

Trading Brady for multiple 1st round picks if Jimmy G dominates is one thing. Of course that needs to be considered.

Saying "Brady who?" as if he was the next Wally Pipp is plain dumb.

He was scorned and vengeful last year and they got their butts handed to them in the AFCCG (granted they came within a point with no time left but the Broncos controlled that game all day).
I don't think anyone suggesting that Brady can win Super Bowls all by himself. But he's certainly shown he knows what to do when he's got a chip on the shoulder.

Naturally.

I can't even believe you've talked yourself into believing what you just wrote.

It's the exact opposite. If I come here, the league pays Ian money. If I watch games, someone pays the league money. See the difference?

Fortunately, I don't answer to you, nor am I as misguided as you. I'll do it my own way, thank you.

See Dreyfus affair - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for a similar example where the implications were real, not "football real can't-play-four-games" as in this case.

Shoot, you've got people defending Shoeless Joe Jackson nowadays. If football is still a thing 50 years from now, the next generation and the generation after that will look at Brady in a similar manner and will look at Goodell as a stooge.
And our grandchildren will ask us how we let Brady get railroaded....

Kessler should have filed a lawsuit right away in Boston.
They tried that, only in Minnesota, and it didn't work.

Being that there was no way to know when the "arbitrator's" decision was coming, there was no way Kessler could get the lawsuit filed before the league did. So they league filed their "Motion to Confirm" in CA2 simultaneously with the "arbitrator's" ruling.

That's a maneuver the NFLPA better get used to seeing from the NFL.

I wasn't going to vote in this election. However, the people who seem to take leave of their senses and do/say bat-sh!$ crazy stuff in response to him has changed my mind. For the pure entertainment value, I will vote for him to watch them all go crazy for four years! It cannot possibly be worse than the past 16 years have been.

This is why certain people should not have the right to vote.

Kraft needs to step up one more time. In my eyes he could try and force Goodell to vacate the suspension or face the Pats not playing in 2016 which would screw up the whole season for the NFL.

Hahahaha.

Assuming he refunded tickets purchased, I'd be in favor of Kraft forfeiting all 4 games.

If the supreme court takes the case (unlikely) it will come down to Anthony Kennedy, who is a Reagan appointee BUT likes to be the center of attention. He voted for gay marriage a few years ago and is unpredictable.

In favor of Brady:

Sotomayor - yes

Ginsburg - yes

Kagen - yes

Breyer - yes

Against Brady:

Thomas - lol (no)

Alito - lol (no)

Roberts - no

Maybe in Favor:

Kennedy - ?

New SCOTUS Justice - ?
It won't line up quite so easily along partisan political lines. This is not about management versus union where we an expect the conservatives to support management and the liberals to support labor. This is about the authority vested in arbitrators.

I've been saying for about a year now that, as far as union vs. management arbitration disputes go, the shoe could just as easily be on the other foot. The NHL recently came along and proved me right:

The NHL has a virtually identical case pending in CA2 only in that situation, it is management seeking to overturn the arbitrator's decision based on the argument that he exceeded his authority and the union seeking to keep the arbitrator's decision in place.

Why in the world would you want the Patriots to essentially throw in the towel on the entire season, one of the few that Brady has remaining??!?!?

Seriously, some people in here need to put their brains in gear, as evidenced above.

Here we go again with the forfeit talk.

If they are stupid enough to try a stunt like that maybe you want to see Goodell take away our entire draft until the next decade and ban Belichick permanently from the league.

It's absurd and not gonna happen.

A lot of people think there is a good chance Ginsberg issues the stay. Legally speaking, no harm comes from granting a stay but plenty of harm comes from denying it, so she may just figure "yeah yeah, here's your stay until I can look at what is really going on here."

IF he does indeed get the stay, he has until --->mid-October<--- to file the USSC petition. So there is a very interesting time element in play for Brady to consider.

Although it would be considerably more difficult, the Pats could still win the AFCE or get a wild card birth, so it's not quite throwing in the towel. Given their track record, the Pat's would most likely be 9-7 at the end of the season. The Pats could end up at 0-4 under Jimmy G anyway.

Although this would be pretty extreme, besides a superbowl win, it's really the only way the Pats can fight back. The NFL won't change until their behavior starts affecting their bottom line.

You are free to disagree, and that is a certainly a rational perspective. That said, I find your perspective on my cognitive acuity amusing.

PS
I know it's not going to happen.
