Kraft "trying" to get 1st round pick back

Hopefully this year we can get another situation like last year with La'el Collins, where a top talent slides, except this year the Pats pull the trigger early.

So the REAL cheating is all of the other franchises getting 1st round picks while the Pats' pick is stolen.

Integrity!

That's what the people who are on the NFL's side on this fail to realize: Fabricating a "rules violation" and delivering an over-the-top punishment (taking away a first round pick and suspending the team's best player for 4 games) gives every other team an unfair advantage. Arguing that fair play is important falls flat when, not only is the league making up the crime, the penalty is extreme it creates an uneven playing field.

Here's the problem. The way the owners see it, the Patriots are already making a mockery of the concept of parity, so they think this is evening the playing field.

"No new info". You made a decision based on no evidence then demand evidence proving that nothing happened. It's like a religious person countering the lack of evidence of a God by demanding proof that a god doesn't exist... or telling an accused witch she can prove her innocence by sinking...

And to think people still think something happened (even dumb Pats fans I know think something happened. ugh)

The flip side is they have a boatload of picks this season and if you look st the first round draft picks from 5-10 years ago show me who's a household name or is a name you recognize 1-32 in each draft. Yes it is an attempt to level the field, albeit one that again will fail miserably. Even if the Pats have been one of the more successful day one drafting teams.

makes me so angry this guy can stand up after all the lies and say this with a straight face

Easy to do when the questions are planted. Of course guys like Jeff Howe get ignored.

Jeff Howe– ‏@jeffphowe

In a shocking development, I've been shut out from asking a question in the fourth consecutive Goodell news conference since Deflategate.

Yep, now be a good soldier and ask about NFL Foundation and I'm sure you will be allowed to get a question in Jeff.

Glad to have such an influential owner. Good to see the league is still thankful for Kraft's hard work helping the league and NFLPA come to terms on the CBA several years ago. God Bless the NFL.

Maybe Kraft can write a letter to the league asking them if they'll accept Howe's questions.

Kraft should ask the SDNY for a restraining order halting the draft until Brady's case is completed! The league would go into a tailspin! Every now and then a company needs someone to pull out their doomsday file and just let the feathers fly!

So apparently Goodell answered Kraft's letter (denying the request, of course) two weeks ago.

Kraft has to be really losing it if he thinks he'd get any positive PR out of making public some lame letter after he already knew it had been rejected.

Do they really have no one competent in PR over at 1 Patriots Place? Or is Kraft being delusional and overriding/ignoring his PR people? (This is not a new question -- I've been asking this since pretty early on in PSIgate.) Either way, it doesn't reflect well on Kraft.

Off the top of my head I can only think of one other team that was penalized a 1st round pick, and that was the Dolphins when they stole Don Shula from the Colts, although a 1st round pick was part of the package from the Rats when they stole Bill Parcells and Curtis Martin.

In those cases though, the offending team actually received value for their picks in the form of coaches and players.

Previously, I believe the highest pick actually forfeited was a 3rd rounder.

That is a such significant penalty that the Pats have had to endure twice now in ten years, and for minor, if not completely fabricated offenses.

Just shows how gr8 the Pats under BB and TB has been that the league has to resort to such draconian tactics to try and stop the Pats from dominating.

**** the NFL* !
