Season not over but you have to admit..

No they aren't. They might, possibly, if you squint real hard, be a contender to get to the SB because the AFC pretty much sucks.

Put it this way--do you think that winning one home game and automatically hosting the AFCCG makes you "need to squint real hard to be an AFC contender?" I sure as hell don't. Manning and the Broncos are indeed, a viable contender.

But either Ariz or Seattle would slaughter them.

No one in their right mind would dispute that.

If no one would dispute that, then they aren't a viable contender. Unless you're using the word contender in the context of just making the SB, rather than winning it.

There's a real chance that the NFC is just going to run away with the Super Bowl this season. Hell if its the Cardinals I'll root for them.

Just because I agree that they'd get slaughtered vs. the likes of ARZ or SEA doesn't mean that I don't think that they could compete with any of the other 4 teams in the NFC field, should they make it that far.

For the record, I don't think they'll make it to the SB, but they are certainly worthy of the definition of "contender" no matter how you see it.

what's so hard about that?...they feel like they ALWAYS feel after game 16...anxiously awaiting the NFL draft and more of their "steals!!!!"...

I love that no matter the thread, every time the Jets are mentioned anywhere, Joker is there to spew some fire! That's enviable Jets hatred right there! :D

I think Pittsburgh beats Cincy and Denver. And Pats beat KC setting up Pittsburgh at New England

That's exactly how I see this playing out. New England gets Pittsburgh att home in the AFCCG. I can't wait to see Manning end his career with five pick one and done, exactly as it should end.

This fan base sucks, period. They don't deserve this team. The quitters can call it a season right now.

Memba that time The Chosen One came off the bench to single-handedly grab the #1 seed ? That was great.

I think the Pittsburgh Steelers songs for Denver last night. It allows them time to book those Boston "wanna get away" cheap fares 3 weeks in advance.

The weakness in the o line is limiting us. We can not run (Jackson has nothing left) and we can not run pass plays that take more than 2 seconds to develop. No time for Brady to read the defense.

Cincy's d line is going to be all over Brady, if we do not get healthy bodies back out there.

This o line stinks. Miami was the 30th ranked run defense and the pats did squat. That is what was disappointing. They are what they are.

If we play goober, let's just hope for true denver weather on game day, not the 55 degree bs that was two years ago.

Im guessing injuries have something to do with that.
Regardless of injuries, I though oach was only interested in the ones who are on teh field.
Can we take a minute to appreciate this team? Let's look at Denver's or Cincinnati's (or anyone's) rosters at the beginning of the year and then:

1. Take their #1 WR away for weeks
2. Hobble their #2 WR
3. Put their starting all purpose RB on IR
4. Put their other starting RB on IR too
5. Put their starting LT on IR
6. Flip their RT to LT then take him out for a bit
7. Injure the replacement LT for a bit too
8. Keep the starting center out for half the season
9. IR a starting guard from last year
10. Generally hammer the OL with various injuries
11. Take the top TE away for a couple games
12. Give the one starting LB a virus that keeps him out weeks
13. Injure their other starting LB for a few weeks too
14. Injure the third LB for ****s and giggs
15. IR the starting third CB
16. IR the next starting third CB
17. Injure the next starting third CB for a few weeks
18. IR one of their best defensive tackles
19. IR a couple reserve DEs
20. Injure their top free safety for a couple of weeks
21. Injure their strong safety for a bit at the same time

You guys think other teams under these same circumstances would finish 12-4 too?

Are you implying that we don't have a very good team right now; cannot play at 100% with the ones that actually are on the field?

I actually wasn't surprised by our last two losses. It seemed (to me) that once we clinched the bye, the MO by the coaching staff was to play conservative and keep injuries to a minimum.

Win if we can with what we have to secure HFA. If we don't win, its not a huge deal as we still have a bye. Don't be tempted to put in players that aren't 100% (i.e Amendola) who would definitely help get the win, but at the same time might re-aggravate an injury and end up not being able available for the playoffs.

We've secured a bye - Right now whats important is the playoffs, not a regular season game. We need to focus on our important pieces getting and staying healthy for the playoffs and not risk them to more injury in a regular season game that in the end doesn't really matter too much with a bye.

At least that's what I imagine BB and crew have been thinking.

Why not sit Brady and Gronk then?

Something like that.

So by this graphic, the Pats were more injured than anyone but won as many or more games as anyone else except for Arizona and Carolina. Also, it would appear Carolina and Arizona are both pretty healthy, and Denver is extremely healthy (big surprise).

The Giants and Ravens were almost as injured as the Pats but they weren't able be successful in spite of it.

The Dolphins were extremely healthy but apparently just really suck.

You expected us to roll and be invincible. you figured other teams would just roll over and die.

Well, that's what happens with injuries to your top receivers and RBs.

However, the greatest football team in the modern era has 2 weeks and a number of players coming back that didn't play today.

I'm not singling you out, but nobody hands you the trophy, you have to fight for it.

You'd think we learned that in 2007, but I guess not.

We don't have a choice to bring an uninjured, unblemished team to the playoffs, we play the cards we're dealt. People freaking out because we "lost" homefield advantage and can't win now are quitting.

Denver probably loses to Pittsburgh anyway. It's always a different story. Sounds the same as after last years KC game.
What in the world are rambling about?

i still think once Edelman and seabass are back this team will look unbeatable again

I would love to agree with you and hope you are right.. However, I seriously doubt it will be that easy.

they could end up playing houston and pitt at home if thats the case they should make it to the SB now beating one of dose hot NFC teams like the panthers. seahawks or AZ will not be so easy, but the pats season IMO if far from over
