Chris Harris: Broncos Defense has No Weaknesses

They're a very good defense, but they still don't have LB's or DB's that can stick with Gronk and Lewis out of the backfield. That will be their undoing. Well, that and their offense is trash.

FU mode, engaged

Am I going to have to redo the center graphic? :D

What is the main difference between this year and last year on their D?

Isn't it just Chris Harris being healthy for the most part?

I mean the last time the Pats played this D they didn't have much of a problem.

No offense to Miller and Ware but they aren't playing like players that need to be double teamed. Plus, Gronk has a penchant for destroying sub 260 pound DE/LBs on his way into his routes.

Brandon Marshall is the best player on that defense this year. Antonio Smith is a savvy vet that has given us problems in the past.

Overall I see the same old Wade Phillips overaggressive one gapping scheme. Get a few early big gains on runs and screens and the aggressiveness is gone.

Probably attack the part of the field where Danny Trevathan is.

Isn't this the same Broncos D that got scored on by Josh McCown and taken to overtime by the Browns?

Yeah, no weaknesses. Brady is no McCown, he's done for.

that was in NE and they had JDR as the D-coordinator. now they have wade phillips.

Good. Glad to hear they are so confident. I hope to whole Bronco's D feels the same way. That's what I love about this Pats team, they are never satisfied and they feel there is always room for improvement. I think it was after the Dallas game. The post game locker room video picked up Edelman saying to Mr. Kraft, "there's room for improvement there." And that was after a 30-6 win, on the road. If you start thinking you have no weakness, then maybe you don't prepare as much or as well as you can. And if any team does not give the Pats the full, undivided attention and preparation then they have already lost. Its way I enjoy hearing the paranoia from other teams about worrying if their locker room is bugged or if the Pats are messing with the headsets (which the Pats have no control over). That's less time, even a small amount, that they are not concentrating on how to beat the Pats on the field.

Just to beat the dead horse about the AFC CG va Denver in 2013 some more...

Despite reaching the AFC CG I don't think 2013 could have been any worse for us. We lost Gronk, Vollmer, Mayo, Wilfork, Tommy Kelly and Spikes to IR. That's four or five pro bowlers depending on how you view Tommy Kelly.

All of our offseason plans failed and then some. Hernandez went to jail, Adrian Wilson never even played a game, Donald Jones retired due to illness, Armond Armstead was sick again.

We had no business being in the championship game and it showed. It also showed the following year when we were finally healthy and won the Super Bowl.

Scheme and experience. We switched to a 3-4 which suits our personnel a lot better.

That the Pats were in the AFCCG speaks more to how bad the AFC was that year.

The funny thing is the AFC has a very similar makeup this year: AFC South sucks, down years for Pitt and Baltimore, mediocrity in the AFC East aside from us. This year we also get the added bonus of SD and KC being extra sucky which unfortunately helps Denver.

Like we did in the AFFC game two years ago? Wouldn't count on it.

This game is going to be really tough. Hope we eke out a win, but we ain't gonna pound them with the run.

Using this logic, expect that pats to put up more than 40 like last year

The pats win big going away

I think if the Browns and Chiefs can hang over 20 on the Broncos then we should be able to hang 30 on them. I don't think Noodle arm and his O can hang that many on us.

a few broncos fans told me that mcnown was having a great year so the close score was justified lol.

Neither team scored 30 and both got pick 6s. Offensive points for both were below 20.

Haven't we been hearing about that "great Denver Defense" since the Tim Tebow days?? "Watch out for Von Miller!" Since those days TB12 never seems to have a problem exploiting that Denver Defense.

I can't work out why people are acting "scared" when discussing the Broncos. Sure, the game is in Denver but the simple reality is the Patriots are the defending champions, the offense is clicking, the defense is clicking, special teams is clicking and the team has brutalised some very good defenses. I'd rather get past the bloody bogeyman Giants first before being concerned with Denver.

This Broncos D is much better than Seattles.
Playing in New England, I'd give this game to NE... but in Denver, it's a different story. This scares me because if we lose, we will probably get the #2 seed and they will have the #1 seed. I think the home team will win in the playoffs, so this NE vs DEN game might as well be a must-win.

We've won the last two because we played in NE. In DEN, our chances are not as great. That D is playing much better than the Jets D as well, anyone who said the Jets have a better defense is fooling themselves.

If you think I'm wrong, place some bets!
Denvers D will be ranked higher than the Jets D in most categories.
Brady will have his worst performance of the season against Denver.

Hope the Pats pull out a win there but I'm not holding my breath.
