I prefer darius slay. A little more size
Don't see any reason why Detroit would trade Slay. He has a $1.7M cap hit in 2016 and is only 25 years old.

I don't think Detroit views themselves as needing to rebuild I think they believe they can contend in 2016 with some minor changes.

and of course we dont have a 1st anymore, thanks to goodell and kraft.
still waiting for the apology.

Don't put the first letter of their first name on their jerseys ether, really screw with them, black sox have nothing on us...

have jason play safety, put devon at CB..
we'll probably lose a draft pick.

Are they getting a new QB and offensive line? Stafford has really regressed

It doesn't take a genius to realize this team could use help at CB and OT.

Great, what does that have to do with what you posted and my response to it?

Sensabaugh would be the more likely one. FA after this year and only a $800k cap hit for the rest of the year
Yeah, I think he's the most likely trade candidate (from any team) today. Now he's not a great player, but probably an upgrade (and definitely a versatility upgrade) over Melvin.

Slay,Mccourty,Sean Smith,Haden all welcomed.

I'm not sure, it's not about what I think it is what they think, and I just don't think they believe they need to blow it up.

What are you talking about? Where this team needs help the most is CB and OT. You know it. I know it. BB knows it. I don't see where you are going with this.

True but i never been a stafford guy. The fact that this guy hasn't had a w on the road against a winning team's mind boggling.

I will explain. Odds are BB thinks the same things as there appears to be a great CB need and a need at T right now. Ok got it.

But to make a blanket statement that we know what the team needs as much as BB does seems strange. He is a mastermind at this and one of the best ever. And, is currently the GM/coach and sees all options.

Which CB would fit and which wont. Which T. What are the teams asking for. What are the cap ramifications. I get what youa re saying but cant say for certain anyone here knows anything since they are not BB and dont have the info he does, nor the experience and knowledge about such things.

So to me, pointing out that we know what the team needs as much as BB does is like saying we know the same amount about the weather as the local weatherman because we can point to the sky and say "Hey Look....Clouds"

Agreed, from what I've seen they have a good or at least average defense, and some playmakers, they don't have two important things though, or three:

- Offensive Line
- A playbook
- A coach

Stafford can't read defenses, he locks too much his receiver(s), the only thing he has is a good arm, but that's just a minor part of the equation for a QB. He can't work under pressure and is taking too many hits.

The playbook, OC. It's unbelievable, they don't have plays, everything seems improvised and just drop back and throw, it looks like people playing ball in a park.

Caldwell...enough said.

I agree with you, I have Stafford in the same category as Jay Cutler. Both are widely inconsistent, play below their capabilities, and are mental midgets.

Cannon's quick feet were a strength coming out of college......he may not have that much lateral range, but he's got enough to get the pass rusher behind the QB

Well sure that is all true but you had to know that is not what I meant when I said that. That was a statement meant to address broad generalities. I don't think anyone would take it to mean anything other than that so i didn't feel a need to over examine it.

Unlike others I'm not as concerned with the OL. I think now that Vollmer has made the move to LT he will remain there so Cannon will play RT. As much as I would love to have a healthy Solder for depth purposes I think it is possible Vollmer at LT and Cannon at RT could be as good or even better than Solder at LT and Cannon at RT.

The Vernon Davis deal seems to indicate that teams have wildly different valuations of assets like compensatory picks. If I'm reading the rules right, if Davis, who's in the last year of his contract, signs elsewhere for a decent deal then the team that loses him will get a comp pick. So any trade that includes him should require that the team that acquires him beat that comp pick for value.

San Francisco got two sixth round picks for Davis and a seventh round pick, but they also lost and the Broncos gained whatever comp pick a team gets for letting Davis sign elsewhere. If it's even a 6th round comp pick, the deal then becomes San Francisco getting two 6th round picks but losing one to net one and Broncos getting Davis for one season, and a 6th and 7th round pick. A total win for the Broncos. The Niners should have asked for more or included a conditional pick that kicks in if the Broncos get a comp.
Good point. Seen through that light, the deal doesn't really make any sense at all… It doesn't seem as if they're saving much money either. Strange.
