I'm comparing him to Thomas on last year's team, which was better offensiveky and still got bounced early.

Is he an upgrade over Daniels at this point? Davis has been invisible for a few seasons. And I'm hearing he got shipped because he can't get along with Kaepernick, so, yes, he might hurt.

Either way, I see this pickup as "meh."

Yes, he's better than Owen Daniels. Vernon Davis' main problem is that his QB before today didn't bother throwing him the ball ever, because that would require him making more than one read.

So it's tough to gauge where he is now, to where he was 3 years ago, when he was a legitimate top-5 talent at the position.

He can't get along with Kaepernick because a) Kaepernick hasn't thrown him the ball in three years, and b) Kaepernick is a Tannehill-level, entitled douchebag.

He helps the team.

That said, anyone worried about "seam routes" and any of those things has not watched the Broncos over the last two seasons - everything's a crossing route or down the sideline, because Manning hangs everything. See Manny Sanders' gator arms for details.

I don't think our opinions are that far apart. Your take on Kap is money. :)

Hes probably equivalent to Thomas at this point.

He's equivalent to Thomas at this point, but not what he was last year, barring an almost unprecedented resurgence.

But people will go all "lol 'I CANT STAND IT' haha" because the Broncos can do no right and the Patriots can do no wrong.

Why do you continually bring up this straw man?

I'm just praying we trade for any tall WR with a recognizable name. That will fix any depth issues we have on the O-line or in our secondary. We so need a me-first won't play ST's diva.

We should have drafted at least 3 this year. Stupid BB. It's the obvious missing piece to the puzzle.

This has nothing directly to do with Davis, but it is just too awesome not to post.

Report: Chargers shopping FS Weddle via trade
The Chargers are 2-6 and bringing up the rear of the AFC West. Weddle, 31 in January, is in the final year of his contract, so the Bolts could simply be looking for a draft pick that would be more than they get for losing Weddle in the form of a compensatory pick. The Chargers have already hinted they won't re-sign Weddle. Weddle has missed the last two games with a groin injury, but should be healthy soon. When on the field, he's a leader and above-average "center fielder."

To respond to "report" - Nope.

@JasonColeBR: #Giants among four teams to express interest in #Chargers safety Eric Weddle. Deadline is Tuesday at 4 pm ET

We got enough safeties to choke a horse. We need OL help or CB

Ugghhh...reminds me of the AFCCG loss at Indy in 2006/early 07.

The only difference was that Brady went through an extremely long cadence, continuing to look left and center, but never looking to his right. Oh, and the fact that the whole 6 state region was jumping up and down so hard that it caused a small earthquake, whereas no one gave a damn about SF and STL.

I think really we will be looking for depth....be it O-Line, corner....depth is what we need.

I dont think we will ever trade for a blue chip player today but if would be a nice im still sorry present from Kraft to Brady.
