I don't hate this move. Aside from the Colts game, he hasn't looked good. As fans, we hang on to single performances way too much.

I'm excited in the prospects of James White and Dion Lewis.

Gray's a "never was", so I don't see the problem here.

And another fan who forgot the Chicago and Miami games.

He was given the opportunity to carry the ball more than 6 times only 4 games. In 3 of those 4 games, he averaged over 5 ypc.

But "Brady destroyed his cellphone!!!!!!"

You've got to maximise value on the 53. Chris Harper, Rufus Johnson, David Andrews, Darius Fleming - all of them are probably worth more to the team than Gray. Can't keep them all.

You always skimp at some position or other.

That's why they cut Fleming as well.. We don't know why Gray was cut..

I wonder how relevant the shaky OL is, in terms of both:
  • Play selection.
  • Requirements for pass blocking from RBs.
And yes, the interior OL is definitely shaky to start the season. There's NOBODY on it who both has played reliably for the Pats in the past and also got much work in in August.

I always thought Jonas Gray was vastly overrated by fans. Sure he had a great game vs the Colts, but he really hasn't done much before or since. And I think I could rush for 150 yards against the Colts. Blount carved them up the last two times he faced them too.

Hey, if it's a blowout or preseason, Jonas Gray is your guy.

Does anyone believe Gray thought he would be cut? I wonder what he's feeling like right now.

I would be willing to bet that Gray thought he made the team no problem, and was challenging for the starter's job.

Probably not. But he should have thought it was a possibility.

Blount has gotten rave reviews this summer. Dion Lewis had a great preseason. White is a high draft pick. Bolden is a special teams staple. He was definitely a potential cut going into this preseason.

For all we know, it's a Patrick Pass type situation..

C'mon Rob. You know better than some of the others claiming he had only one good game.

3 out of the 4 games BB let him carry the rock more than 6 times, the kid averaged over 5 yds per carry.

He averaged over 4.6 for the season.

Productive player
$510,000 salary
Thin position behind a "shaky" character player (big rb)

In a vacuum I hate this move, but he had to be a turd behind the scenes. Has to be a coaching issue. I was hoping that mgteich's binky (Varga) would be up for grabs, but it looks like he made the Colt's 53. BB must be real high on Cadet.

He got shot in the hamstring by a sniper?

Guess you've never read Patriots Reign..
BB cut Patrick Pass in an attempt to light a fire under him and then brought him back because the QBs liked him and he showed flashes..
