Bring back Kenbrell!

(he played pretty well last year in the regular season games for the raiders)

That didn't happen.

In 12 games for OAK last season, Kenbrell Thompkins caught a grand total of 15 balls for zero touchdowns.

He did play well for them last season, he was only given much playing time in the last six games or so, and he was the number one receiver in at least one of those games. This with a new system and a rookie qb. Again the tape on him was pretty good, you aren't expecting production like a number one or number two.

The knock on him has always been special teams

Fair enough. I respectfully disagree with the thought that he played well for Oakland last season, but I can appreciate your point about the rookie QB and uncertainty of the receiving corps.

I think we pass here, but that's just my opinion. You may be right.

Iffy hands, bad body control. His only claim to fame was the game winning TD catch vs the Saints, and he hasnt done much since.

I was never aboard the KT bandwagon. Id rather see Dobson get another shot or Harper.

Why, if Oakland let him go. Why should we pick him up again?

I don't see it. I understand Bill has an innate ability to pick guys off other peoples scrapheap, but this is a guy he bombed off last year. In the intervening time all that has changed is that he caught 15 catches for a sucky Raiders team who are so high on his progression they have just released him in the first set of cuts.

Give Harper a go

Kenbrell Thompkins has caught a grand total of 45% of his targets in his career, and he's been sub 50% in both of his spots. He stumbles in his routes, has no idea how to alter his routes, has poor hands, is a marginal NFL athlete, and is already 27. There are going to be dozens of receivers cut in the next week who are better than Thompkins. Let's close the door on this one forever.

So far we've had calls to bring back Kenbrell, Moss, Welker ... Any other savior WRs out there? Oh yeah, Donte Stallworth. Might as well bring him back too.
What about Don Hudson and/or Don Maynard? Yes, they are dead but can they not come back as a zombie receivers? I know that zombies are a little bit slow but they're indestructible!

We've already seen what he can do, and it isn't much. I really don't understand the appeal.

Sure, why not kick the tires there?

He didn't play "well"? I SAW the Raider games so far. He's HORRIBLE. Stone hands and bad body control.I'll tell you who's got 10,000 times better hands and WR smarts...Chris Harper. Eff, Can'tbrell
I have to agree with that statement, Harper has looked much better at actually catching passes cleanly, like an actual NFL WR than I ever saw from Thompkins, I was pulling for KT, but I don't think there is space for him on this roster.

In the Walking Dead they are very fast. They walk at their zombie pace but always seem to catch up to the humans that are running away from them at full speed.

Like a classic zombie CB "make up speed"

Thomkins don't play ST's so that alone wouldn't make him a game day active.

I always liked his potential but I don't see how he would improve the roster. Dobson is a better player with higher upside and he is the final WR to make the 53 imo.

KT's 27 years old and hasn't done anything since he left the team. I think that ship has sailed.

No thanks. He body-caught and double-caught everything when he was here. There's no place on an NFL roster for a receiver with such poor catching mechanics unless he has some serious upside in the size/speed departments. Kenbrell does not. I wish the kid well, but not in a Pats uniform.

This!
Loved the guy & hated to see him go but subsequent lack of development has shown he is what he is a NFL wannabe. Too bad. Wish him well.

In 6 of the past 7 seasons, 6 WRs were on the 53 to start the season. One of those will be Slater.

Of the remaining 5, I'd say Jules and Amendola are locks to start on the 53. Lafell's status is up in the air. He's deserving of a spot, but keep hearing PUP. If he's on the PUP, that gives us potentially 3 WR spots.

Wayne and Dobson could be two of those, but that leaves a potential 3rd WR. Could be Harper, could be Thompkins. Or maybe BB decides 5 is enough. Or maybe it won't be KT because of special team considerations.

But there's definitely room on the opening day 53 for a potential 5th WR, even without exceptions for injury prone (Dobson) or learning the system (Wayne).
Much rather Harper in that scenario.

Boyce was just released by us, no surprise there....not sure if Kembrell would crack the top 5, but definitely worth giving a look. I really like Harper though!!!!

Would you rather have Dobson or thompkins?

Or would you rather have KT than Jalen Saunders minus the compensation?
