@Mortreport: What comes around goes around.

Mort tweeted a simple contract announcement and is getting his arsh handed to him. Ironic that the 2 psi he tweeted to start this mess is the same 2 psi that has destroyed his credibility. Only 1 of the 20+ tweets I read had anything to do with the contract.

(I am not sure what the forum etiquette is when posting numerous tweets but any feedback is appreciated)

Bad tactic by Goodell. doesn't Peter King live in Brookline? I would think he'd think 3 times before posting something that could be as incendiary as what Mort reported (11 of 12).

I have always said this is the reason why the NFL needs to get rid of Goodell. I have never seen a leader turn every minor controversy into a huge crap storm where everyone who gets close to it end up losing big and looking really bad.

I don't feel bad for Mortensen especially since instead of taking at least the Peter King route (never correcting his report until someone calls him out, but at least then does a true mea culpa and say he is wrong) he is defiant and digging deeper. But he is another person that Goodell dragged down with him in this whole mess. His credibility is shot because he was used as a pawn by the NFL front office.

Peter King lives in Manhattan.

Mort's proven himself to be a bag of wieners, but stuff like this always makes us look bad.

Just for the record, not only was Mort killed for his report, he was also WRONG. Are you shocked?! Mort reported a 5 year deal worth about $71MM. Just minutes later PFT got the story rightl The actual contract includes more money in his final year of his rookie contract, ultimately making it a 6 year deal for over $81MM.

Once again, in a quest for speed over accuracy, Mort got it WRONG. :rolleyes

I initially felt bad for Mort after being used as a dupe by the NFL, but not anymore

Once he realized his report was bad he had the decision: Continue being a pawn for the good of his career while letting another man's reputation be dragged through the mud, or stand up and take responsibility

And not only did he go with option A, but it appears that he's digging in with his choice

Mort has always been the most arrogant and self righteous douche. This isn't the first time he got a story wrong and go to claim he got it right. He is quick to condemn others, but rarely holds himself up to the same standards.
