A supervisor of officials: "There have been ball inflation issues in past"

My dream is that Mort and ESPN are staying mum on this because they are working a big story on this and when you shoot at a king you must kill him. I know it is a fantasy but I can have them though.
That's your fantasy? I'm worried about Dr. Pain. :D

The most "F'd" part about it......it all is because of Goodell. If this guy is still employed as the commissioner a year from now, I'll be surprised.
The NFL Constitution states that the Commissioner is supposed to be a person of "unquestioned integrity"....stop right there on that one......

Article VIII Commissioner Employment 8.1

>>>The League shall select and employ a person of unquestioned integrity to serve
as Commissioner of the League and shall determine the period and fix the
compensation of his employment.<<<

By the nature of your post I say this safe to assume you feel the opposite? I cannot see how you came to this conclusion. ;)

Um, excuse me, Roger Goodell has ruled that he himself has unquestionable integrity. So what's the issue here?

It is all just ridiculously inexact. These are balls made by human beings by hand and by sewing machine. That are composed of animal skin. If you took a case of balls off the production line one day, and another case one week later, put them all at 13.0, subjected all balls to the EXACT same conditions, you could easily see wildly varying results between the 2 cases.

Maybe the first case was stitched together by Helen, whose arthritis was acting up that day. The next one was stitched together by Joe, who has been on the job 2 weeks.

Well I certainly can't question the integrity of a man in a position of unquestional integrity after his self appointed unquestioned integrity.

You mean Elena and Jose in the DR.

And used the word integrity 20 times every time he makes a speach

How much time do you have? I should done by Labor Day..............

Right. And the judge in the Ray Rice scandal called him a liar. That alone, on plain reading, suggests that Goodell's continued role as Commissioner is a violation of the NFL Constitution. It does not say "of unquestioned integrity according to at least 23 owners". You don't just get to disregard sections of a constitution when its convenient.

So really, perhaps Kraft can ignore the whole 23 owner requirement and instead have Goodell's appointment reviewed by a judge.

As we all know by now, this was never about ball inflation issues. IMO, this was about multiple people trying to bring down Belichick and weaken the patriots organization (through loss of draft picks etc). I can almost guarantee you officials could have cared less about the psi levels in the footballs. Goodell and his henchman are drunk with power and obviously not very intelligent when it comes to setting up sting operations. It is time for the owners to do an internal investigation and lessen Goodells responisbilities ASAP.

I'm wondering if we won't see a backlash of the NFL's agenda? This official knew his comments would be well publicized. Dan Patrick has been harping about the misinformation leaked by the NFL for a number of days. I don't think this will be over with a judge's ruling.

On field issues of fairness should be entirely up to the referees. That is how a non-corrupt organization handles such issues. The NFL brings off field issues on the field and on field issues off of it resulting in this power drunk league office.

Woops! Those NFL fellers sure are a bunch of Chatty Kathy's, aren't they?

And now the NFL ITSELF is violating the court order AGAINST ITSELF!!!!!!!!

".......And, now, inconclusive, because a current NFL supervisor of officials has acknowledged that some footballs are defective, when it comes to keeping air inside them.

“These are man-made products,” Central Region supervisor of officials Gary Slaughter said during a via to the Steelers, via Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “There is a bladder and a valve. We have all checked them for many years. Sometimes when you check the ball in the locker room right out of the box, there could be a problem. They could have a slow leak, and you wouldn’t even know it at the time.”

There's already a thread on this.

If only we had an alert mod to merge them ... :)
